Flamenco Gel is made from naturally-derived alcohols and is formulated to burn cleanly, producing a minimum amount of soot. Use this gel with the 18" Flamenco Log and Grate Set or the 24" Flamenco Log and Grate Set. Unlike gas, gel isn't explosive. It lights gently, slowly spreading the yellow flame across the surface when a match or lighter is touched to it. Gel is easy to control when you put it in the gel box, making it neat and tidy in your home. Add as much or as little as you like for the timing of the fire you desire. Need to step away? You can snuff the fire at will and relight it when you return. The best part of a Flamenco gel fire is its spectacular realism. Bright-colored, dancing flames are always changing. Each 32 ounce bottle can burn up to 2 hours. Must be used in a vent free fireplace and only with the 18" Flamenco Log and Grate Set or the 24" Flamenco Log and Grate Set.

I just gave an excellent rating for the appearance of the flamenco log set which I recently purchased.However, I am disappointed that 1 quart of Gel Fuel only lasts a little more than 1 hour.I think anyone wishing to buy the log set needs to seriously consider the cost of the fuel needed to enjoy a fire for 3 or 4 hours.
