The product is well made and was easy to install using the instructions provided. I have two suggestions that will make the product even better.
1 The unit replaced was a firebox top damper that had failed. The frame of it formed the top of the firebox and had to stay in place. That means the cable has to make slight corner to reach the bracket. A short length of stainless steel tube would permit that turn and protect the cable from abarasion over time. I will be pleased to beta test one for you and report back.
2 Please break the edges of the bracket. I was attempting to clean the tiles in the firebox and inadvertently cut my hand on the sharp edges of the bracket. This can be done efficiently with a tumbler box.

The chimney cap w/damper works well. I purchased a piece of stainless steel 6 wide x 24 cut in 1/2 to use as an extender support to secure the cap to the top of the flue liner. The cap did not have enough width on the bottom to secure it with the wind and weather.
Otherwise - great idea.
