time for a new one
We put one of these in when we built our house 24 years ago. It has had continuous cold weather use and has been a faithful cold weather friend. Now, after 24 tough working years, it is tired and ready to be replaced. It certainly served us way beyond the three year warranty! We definitely recommend this product for supplemental heat. The cats love it!

Really!? I know the company put these reviews up cause my inlaws, parents and I all got this and not for nothing- should have just spent a little more and installed a wood insert.
Robert's Comment: I assure you we DO NOT fabricate the reviews on our website. I agree that these grate heaters are expensive but they do work very well. I will also agree with you that a fireplace insert is better since you can control the fire better and get a longer burn and more heat. However, a fireplace insert is quite a bit more costly considering the need for a chimney liner and many people still want to retain the look of a natural fireplace.

good product, excellent delivery
This fireplace heater puts out a good amount of heat with a moderate amount of motor noise. The design of the grate causes the coals to stay in the grate instead of falling through, which means more maintenance of the fire to keep it going, but that is a minor problem. Trimming the metal frame to length required some skill with a hacksaw and file, but once installed looks good. Overall very happy with the product, but a redesign of the grate would make it even better.

Very nice addition to my fireplace
Since the purchase of my first house 6 years ago, my family has been enjoying wood burning fireplace every year, However, heat delivery was so poor so someone sitting more than a foot away from the furnace did not really feel any heat. Unfortunately, the unit we received was defective. But customer service was very helpful for trouble shooting and replacement process. We received a new unit 4 days ago and we already used twice. This really works!

This product is awesome. It provides a lot of heat. We heat the main part of the house with it which is about 1000sq ft. We have to keep a small fire or it gets too hot. The motor and blower is a little louder than we had hoped but we are getting used to it.

Great Grate, Was delivered on time as promised. Only thing i find is that the fan can be a little noisy from time to time depending on what speed it is running, but i just trun the volume up on the tv and all is fine.

I bought the Grate Heater last fall, using the President's economic stimulus check on this fine American made product. It was easy to install, works GREAT, and has probably saved a bit of money on home heating oil!

It has worked great for my daughter and her husband in their house. It makes use of ther firewood I saved and split it from the October 2006 unexpected snow storm that hit Western New York. Better use of the wood rather a land fill.
