Great solution to minimize fuel and power use here in West Texas. We have 4 units 2 of which are thermostatically controlled. They serve to provide power outage full heating moreover, they are placed to reduce the fuel use on the gas furnace system on a continuous basis. In other words, we set them in low enough to allow the furnace to work as makeup heat in order to recirculate the entire house. Our guest house is set up the same way-we switched out an older unit to get the thermostatically one because the heat pump is backed up with electric heat. We set the unit to provide all or most of the heat depending on whether we are using the house. No smell-no fuss!
