Only used 3 times over the course of 1 month and already rusting
I thought this grate would be perfect for our outdoor fireplace, but after one month from ordering it (only used 3 times, it's already rusting! We live in a mild climate (Nashville) and have a large fireplace that is protected from the weather...yet, this grate is already rusting! I called Northline prior to purchasing online to ask if it was suitable for outdoor use (the online info didn't mention anything about indoor/outdoor use, and was told that because it's cast iron it would be fine. I phoned them again today after I saw the rusting and was told to email pictures to them, but that there probably wasn't anything they could do since it's not suitable for outdoor use. Really?! Then why was I told otherwise, and WHY DOESN'T IT STATE THIS ON YOUR WEBSITE?!?!
I love all of the products they offer on here, but if this is how Northline treats their customers, the they can kiss my business goodbye. Guess I'll warn my friends as well.
Robert's Comments: Cast iron is used outdoors for many items like manhole covers and many other things. It will rust but that shouldn't hurt the performance. Go with a stainless steel grate if you don't want the rust.

Great GRATE!!! fits perfectly in our big fireplace, makes the wood burn thoughout and nice and warm.

This grate is absolutely wonderful,perfect for my fireplace. I love the heigth from the bottom of the fireplace. The only thing I regret is that I didn't find your company sooner.

Heavy, solid construction. Safe. Shipped on time. Grates help the embers maintain fire, abd the height allows plenty of air to keep the fire well vented. I would recommend this product and buy it again. Terrific piece to complement a large fireplace.
