If I can believe my chimney sweep, who recommended the product to me, it is doing wonders in keeping my fireplace in good shape.

Pardon my French but This is Good Shit! Been using for several years and makes my chimney easy to clean. I burn about 10 cords of wood every winter and clean out a wheelborrow load of creosote every summer. Brushes out easy.

ACS was recommended by my chimney sweep to deal with class III creosote glaze in my chimney tile, at the top. The gallon size is the most economical way to go. Just pour it into a qt size spray bottle. A few tips: When cleaning the chimney from the top, remove the chimney cap and damper. Then spray liberal amounts of ACS on the creosote-coated walls and leave the chimney exposed to the sun for a couple of days. The UV from the sun reacts with the ACS and turns the creosote into a powder which can be easily brushed into the fire box below. In my case, I used a 11 inch wire brush mounted to a pole purchased from Northline. I also found that it helped to use heavy duty stripping pads easily available from Home Depot or Lowe's when cleaning the damper and chimney cap. Also wear heavy duty rubber gloves. This stuff is messy. I personally use a respirator to keep the dust out of my lungs. Once the chimney is cleaned, spray ACS on the walls of the firebox and logs to reduce creosote buildup during each wood fire. A suggestion to the manufacturer would be to include the chemical ingredients on the label.

The product was fairly priced and promptly delivered. In addition, the product works as advertised and has solved my stove/creosote issue. I would recommend Anti-Creo-Soot to anyone that heats with a wood stove insert or a free-standing wood stove.

This item was recommended by my local chimney sweep. Because of where I live, pine is mostly what I burn, causing creosote build-up very quickly. Every few days, I spray a generous amount into a hot fire and this has greatly reduced my build-up.
