These TacTraps are amazing. If you have a SkeeterVac you should have a TacTrap on it. Mine have caught many biting gnats, deerflies, horseflies, mosquitos, wasps, hornets, and houseflies. It caught big horseflies that probably would have been able to walk out of the suction fan trap, but got stuck to the TacTrap. TacTraps greatly increased the efficiency of my 1 acre SkeeterVac.
I also use the octenol bait blocks, and I keep a UV bug zapper on during the day near my SkeeterVac for houseflies, maybe that helps.
I change the traps about every 3 weeks, when I change the propane tank. And when it rains, most of the bug parts wash off, only leaving the fly heads, and the trap remains sticky and active.
The 1-acre SkeeterVac is the 4th such device I have had, from 3 different manufacturers, and it is by far the best. It is self powered and doesn't need electricity like my previous units. I have no problem starting it up even it it runs out of propane, it starts up on 1st attempt. Even heavy rain does not turn it off. Last year I did not have a mosquito catcher for most of the summer, and got chewed up by biting insects almost every day. This year, I've been bitten far less and can open the back door without admitting multiple mosquitos/ deerflies. Was worth every penney.

The SkeeterVac mosquito trap is an excellent propane powered system. It traps mosquitos with a combination of an adhesive trap and a vacuum trap without requiring an external AC power supply. Refills for the adhesive trap are easy to get from multiple online sources.

This product is difficult to rate - since you run a Skeeter Vac for months at a time, it's impossible to tell how bad it may be without it. I'm not getting mosquito bites so far this year, so THUMBS UP!!!

Skeetervacs black & white trap lures the mosquitos to the machine very effectively on my MT river front property. It is covered quickly w/dead mosquitos! The best kind!
