Class A Chimney Pipe Explained
Chimney pipe is an all-fuel chimney system designed for appliances that
require a UL 103 (1700° constant temperature) or a UL 103 HT (2100°
degree constant temperature) chimney system such as wood stoves,
fireplaces, furnaces, boilers, stoves, ranges, or other appliances
fueled by wood, oil, coal, or gas, and zero-clearance fireplaces that
are factory built. Chimney systems can generally be installed
within inches of combustible materials unlike stove pipe which is never
to be used when penetrating a wall or ceiling or used in place of a
chimney system.
