A chimney cap is required where the pipe terminates above the roofline. It is important for not only preventing rain & debris from getiing into your chimney but to keep critters from creating a home in your chimney pipe. With out a cap you could end up with a chimney fire due to debris and animal nesting material or a critter finding its way into your stove.
The DuraTech Chimney Cap is made of stainless steel and designed to twist-lock on to DuraTech chimney pipe. Removable screws allow for cleaning of the chimney system. This cap can be used with or with out the optional spark arrestor. Depending on your local code you may be required to use a spark guard for your installation to be up to code.
The DuraVent DuraTech Round Ceiling Support Box should be used if you are installing your chimney straight up and out your roof and you have a flat ceiling.
This round support box is the chimney pipe component that will allow you to transition from stove pipe to chimney pipe at your ceiling.
Designed for creating a smooth transition, your DuraTech double wall class a chimney pipe will twist lock right into the top of the ceiling support box.
To connect your stove pipe to this ceiling support you will need to use an adapter. This ceiling support is compatible with single wall DuraBlack or Snap Lock stove pipe as well as DVL double wall stove pipe. You will need to choose the appropriate adapter based on which type of stove pipe that you will be using.
The DuraTech Round Ceiling Support Box is available for 5-8" diameter Duratech chimney systems and will require a finishing trim collar which is sold separately.
An attic insulation shield is required when running a chimney through a ceiling or attic space. It keeps insulation and debris from gathering around the pipe and causing a fire hazard. The DuraTech Attic Insulation Shield works with a support box, or the Firestop Radiation Shield. It consists of two parts, a collar, and a base. It keeps the outer wall cool while ensuring high flue gas temperatures for optimum draft performance. Made from galvanized steel. Comes with a mesh sleeve around the top.
DuraVent manufacturers two lines of black stove pipe, DuraBlack (single-wall)
and DVL (double-wall). Both require a chimney adapter to properly connect
the stove pipe to DuraTech or DuraPlus Class A Chimney Pipe. Depending on your installation,
you will need one of the following chimney adapters:
Select roof flashing based on pitch of roof. For example, a 6/12 pitch has a
vertical rise of 6" over a horizontal distance of 12".
For metal roofs, make sure you choose one of the below models.

Materials and Construction
DuraTech features light weight insulation, twist-lock fittings, support boxes with factory installed starter sections, elbows with 360° swivel base, select black finish pipe lengths, and five foot length pipe sections.
The 6" DuraTech Ceiling Support Kit contains all the components needed to install an 6" chimney (excluding black stove pipe and DuraPlus chimney sections) straight up through a normal flat ceiling.
This kit includes the following: (from the cap down)
8" DuraTech Chimney Cap is required where the chimney pipe terminates above the roof line. This Chimney Cap has removable screws to allow for easier cleaning of the chimney and spark arrestor screen. Includes spark arrestor screen.
8" DuraTech Storm Collar this aluminum storm collar is required for use on any through-the-roof installations using a roof flashing.
8" DuraTech Roof Flashing provides leak proof roof penetration. The purpose of the roof flashing is to weatherproof the roof where the chimney penetrates the roof. The flashing gets tucked under the shingles and the shingles are cut around the flashing if needed. The flashing is sealed to the roof with silicone to provide that needed seal to prevent water from getting under the flashing and getting into the attic or house, then a storm collar is placed over the flashing and sealed to the chimney pipe with a high temp silicone to prevent water from running down the chimney.
8" DuraTech Attic Insulation Shield is required for installations that pass through an attic to prevent insulation and debris from accumulating near the chimney. The Attic Insulation Shield fits over the Firestop Radiation Shield or Support box and consists of two-parts - a collar and a base.
8" DuraTech Round Ceiling Support is used when passing through a flat ceiling. It includes a built-in, twist-lock starter section for DuraTech Chimney. Use a Snap-Lock Adaptor, or a DuraBlack Slip Connector to transition to single-wall stovepipe or use a close clearance adaptor to transition to DVL Double-Wall Stovepipe. The Round Ceiling Support requires a 14 1/2" x 14 1/2" framed opening. Included is a 1 1/2" wide trim collar. This round ceiling support will support up to 60' of DuraTech Chimney.
8" Stove Pipe Adapter is required to connect the stove pipe to the chimney pipe and there are several options to choose from depending on your requirements.
Simply add enough 8" stove pipe and class A chimney pipe to complete your installation.
With a Thermal Tech blanket insulation encased between duel walls, DuraTech offers superior safety and performance. It keeps the outer wall cool while ensuring high flue gas temperatures for optimum draft performance. The inner wall is 25% thicker than competitive chimneys, for an extra margin of safety. Designed for normal, continuous operation at 1000 Degree F flue gas temperatures, DuraTech is subjected to rigorous and stringent HT requirements of the UL standard, including one hour at 1400 Degree F, plus three ten minute chimney fire tests at 2100 Degree F.
