Wood stove pipe is used from the top of the wood stove or freestanding fireplace to the bottom of the ceiling or wall where it will connect to class-A chimney pipe or a masonry chimney. Single Wall Stove Pipe radiates more heat into your room and requires an 18" clearance from combustible surfaces. For close-clearance installations or mobile home installations use double wall stove pipe. Follow manufacturer recommendations whenever applicable. Never use a chimney that is smaller in diameter than the flue size of the appliance it is being connected to. Never use stove pipe in place of a class A chimney system.
