You should NEVER use a household or shop vacuum for cleaning out your fireplace. Hot embers can stay alive for days, hidden under ash, which acts like an insulator. A hot ember sitting inside a paper filter bag, surrounded by flammable household debris, is a recipe for disaster. This situation can start a delayed fire, when you’re asleep or not at home. Very dangerous! The other problem is that ash is made of extremely fine particles that a normal filter will not capture. The exhaust port of the vacuum will spew the smallest particles throughout your house, and if you don’t notice your house smelling like an ashtray, you will notice when it comes time to dust, and there’s a fine gray dust coating all your furniture.

The Cheetah II AshVacuum was designed for safe, clean and convenient cleaning of ash out of fireplaces, wood stoves, pellet stoves and bio fuel (corn and wheat) stoves. The patented filtration system is designed for the cleanest possible removal of ash. The Cheetah II uses a filter system consisting of two filters. The first filter is flame retardant for precautionary reasons. The second filter traps sub-micron particles (ash) and has a special snap spring assembly allowing for easier cleaning. The dual filters are specially engineered to capture the finest ash particles to keep your house clean and smelling fresh. You can even clean the filters without opening the canister so no ash has a chance to escape. All you do it jiggle the agitator rod on the lid to knock ash off the filters. The canister stays closed.

The Ash-Vac features a 5' flame-resistant hose, 3-gallon capacity container, and a powerful 6-amp motor. Comes with a one year warranty and includes one set of filters. This unit is 20" high, has a 1-1/4" diameter hose opening, and holds up to 3 gallons of ash.

Product Note: This vacuum is meant for cool and warm ashes only, it cannot be used to pick up embers, it will result in damage to the unit.

What you can safely vacuum

We advise that you always allow enough time for all embers to completely die and cool off and offer these guidelines to give you a feel for how fire resistant our fabric filters are.

What we refer as a firefly" is unlikely to burn a hole in our filter. A firefly is like the tiny spark that floats up out of a fireplace, and it glows for no longer than a firefly about a second before it burns out.

What we refer to as a cigarette" could potentially burn a hole in our filter. It is a piece/chunk of partially burned fuel (wood or pellet) that has a red hot glowing ember attached, much like a cigarette. These carry enough fuel with them, that, if lodged against the filter, with swirling air, could heat up and damage the filter.

If you need to clean a pellet stove while the contents in the pot still seem warm, the best way to ensure your AshVac only picks up only ash, and not large hot embers, is to rest the nozzle at an angle directly on the bottom of the pot, and then move it around so it sucks fine ash particles from the bottom of the pile. The narrow opening between the pot floor and nozzle allows ash through, but blocks larger material, including hot embers that are large enough to be problematic.

We do recommend changing the Ash Vacuum filters once a season. They cannot be washed because they have been treated with a Teflon finish. If you wash them they will get sticky. You can clean the filters after each use by removing the rod cover and shaking the shaker basket by grasping the metal rod sticking up out of the lid from side to side. This is just done if you are losing suction but your canister is not full of ash yet.

THIS VACUUM SUCKS!!!!

Wow! Made in the USA! Fantastic!
Just used the Cheetah ll on a Breckwell pellet furnace and a Yukon eagle wood furnace, in the same day. WOW!
Can't say enough. Have used up several small other brands and they blew up! This vac right from the start pitched right in and SUCKED up the ash like crazy.
I have several wands that I made for the other vacs and they work on this vac. Fantastic. Yes, I'm impressed and hope this continues. What a product!

This Ash vac works very well. I had one before for my pellet stove and used it all the time. Ordered another from Northlineexpress It arrived in two days! Thank You. I use it for my wood stove and it is really great for cleaning the glass, edges and around the hearth with out spewing ash dirt all over. IF you are sensitive to loud noises I would get the quieter version, this is really loud. If this were a bit easier to store away I would give it 5 stars.

well, I never knew I needed a ash vac, the first year I used a ash vac and it was OK. But then a layer of soot was on evrything, EVERY WEEK!! So I got this ash vac... IT MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE thank you so much for a product that was the least expensive that worked very very well, may I also add that this company was extremely helpful and patient with all my questions. Small, unburned coals of wood easily plug the small intake hose. Would be nice if it had an easy way to unplug the end. I wish it could pick up larger pieces of coals when the coals are cool enough to do so. Excellent dust/ash control.

Ordering online was excellent.
