Sentry Fireplace Door Stock Sizes and Finishes

Follow the steps below for assistance in measuring your fireplace opening.Measuring Your Fireplace Opening

  • 1 - Start by measuring the width of the fireplace opening. All measurements should be to the nearest 1/16" of an inch. Measure the top and then the bottom width. If you find that your fireplace is not consistent in the measurement (wider at the bottom and narrower at the top for example) you should use the narrowest measurement. Do the same for the height, measuring both the left and right side. Again use the narrowest measurement for the height.
  • 2 - Once you have your fireplace opening measurements, use the Opening Width and Opening Height columns to locate the correct from/to measurements from the chart below to find the correct size door. (Example: Your fireplace opening dimensions measure 36 1/2" Wide x 27 1/2" High. You would select the 40" Wide x 29" High door.)

Stock Masonry Doors come standard with 3/16" tempered Bronze glass that looks great with all finishes. Some customers prefer the optional Clear or Gray glass. Hearth Craft uses 3/16" glass rather than the industry standard 1/4" glass, the reason is because 3/16" glass dissipates heat faster and reduces the chance of hot and cold spots..

The Sentry Contemporary Fireplace Door is made to stand the test of time with a 3" wide brass plated steel frame with reinforced rigid inner steel supports. An adjustable hidden damper control allows you to regulate airflow to achieve a roaring fire, or close down for relaxation in front of a gentle blaze.

Trim-less "full fold" doors open 180 degrees offering a full, unobstructed view of the fire for enhanced viewing, trackless opening for easy cleaning, and a mesh curtain for burning safety. These doors come standard with Bronze glass and a mesh curtain; Clear or Gray glass, or beveled glass, are options as well (Please allow 4 weeks for beveled glass).     • Will the glass door stop the heat generated from the furnace from escaping through the fireplace when the fireplace is not being used?
      I can now stand in front of the fireplace and feel the cold air coming in.

    • Glass doors will help to not allow all the heat to escape up the chimney. The doors are not air tight though. So you will still lose some heat. Another option would be to add a top ceiling damper like the Lock Top II item code 5CO-09507. They are offered in a few different sizes. When not in use you can close the damper and save a lot of money on your heating bill.
