Overview

Heat-N-Glo's Cozy Grate Fireplace Heater turns an ordinary masonry fireplace into an efficient woodburning fireplace. More than 40,000 BTU's per hour will be pushed into the room by the themostatically controlled blower. Operation is simple the Blower automaticlt turns on at 110 F and Off at 90 F.

Make your fireplace more efficient with a Cozy Grate Heater by Heat-N-Glo. More than 40,000 BTU's of heat per hour can be produced with this heavy-duty fireplace grate heater. Easy to install! Simply replace your old fireplace grate with the Cozy Grate Heater, plug in the 9' power cord and build a fire. Within minutes the firebox will reach 110 degrees and begin to blow heat from the thermostatically controlled blower. Once your firebox temperature reaches 90 degrees, the blower turns off automatically.


The versatile unit can be used with or without a glass door. If used with a glass door, the door sits on top of the bar and would be elevated 1 3/8" high. The grate measures 8" high while the log basket measures 9 1/4" deep. Designed for masonry fireplaces, not intended for zero-clearance fireplaces.

Note: The Cozy Grate heater should run on high for 10-15 minutes, on initial start up. This will add longevity to the life of the motor.

In the case of a power outage you will need to remove the unit from your fireplace before lighting a fire.

Note: Pictured with optional Brass Trim Bar. All units have a 29 1/4" wide x 2" deep front rail and include black extenders that provide a maximum front rail width of 51 1/4". Your glass door (if applicable) sits on top of the front rail and is elevated 1 3/8".

Oiling a Cozy Grate Heater

On the side of the blower box, bend back the heat shield so you can access the two screws on the back. There is also one screw on the front side of the cover. ALL must come out. Inside, there are two nuts, these hold the motor to the motor housing. Remove the nuts. The fan blades will also come out with the motor so you can clean them as well. There will be two little oil holes, one on each end of the motor.You can use any type of light machine oil or 3-in-1.

24" Cozy Grate Heater

This is my second Cozy gate heater. They are awesome. We use it to heat our family room which is on the north side of our home. We burn the fireplace all winter and our first cozy grate heater lasted 23 years and burned over 12 cords of wood. It was finally retired this year when a hole burned through the center tube. We just replaced it with the same one and we are so happy it was made exactly the same. It's high quality and works well. The only issue as was stated in a previous review is that the blower is noisy when run at high speed, but otherwise this is a very well built and functional fireplace heater.

I have only used the grate a couple of times so far. It works better than I expected it to and I can't wait to use it again. I reccomend getting the wood rail for the back an extra $30 I think.

Heater has made a huge difference in a hard-to-heat room. Installation was simple. Only drawback is the noise of the motor. I would prefer that the motor be on the outside of the firescreen, but that is minor.

This is our third Cozy Grate Heater. It helps us to heat our family room, kitchen and bath room and den, without using our oil furnace. We wouldn't be without one of these heaters.
