A must have for a home with a wood stove

Wood stoves really dry out the air in your home, once we used this we could definitely feel the difference. Excellent product and very necessary to have.

Functional, Quality, Solid

Big, heavy, and solidly built. I'm happy with the purchase. I bought 2 - one as a Christmas gift for Mom and decided to buy one for myself as well. Very happy with the purchase.

heavy duty

This is a very heavy kettle and it is great on a wood stove to keep humidity in the home, however, it did rust on the bottom
already so that I was not pleased about. Hopefully you can come up with a coated one on the inside so it will not rust and that would make more sense.

Good except for dimension

The kettle meets the need. I rubbed it in cooking oil and then 'baked' in my grill for several hours to treat it. The reason I am not giving the 5th star is that due to the buldge out style the base will not fit in a 7 inch opening in spite of the stated base dimension of 7 inches. That was important to me to have it fit on the stove the way I wanted it to.

GREAT ITEM

First thing I did after receiving this very quickly for N.EX was coated in bacon grease (inside and out) and baked it in the oven @ 200 for 1 hour to cure the cast iron (prevents rust and the appearance stays BLACK). We burn wood 24/7 and the last one I bought was a 3 qt, had to fill it 3x a day. With this 5 qt I fill it in the morning and at night, no more wondering if it's empty. Also ordered the oil drop air freshener...Great products, very happy with the quality and fast delivery.

over all okay

be careful using this as it generates a lot of steam and when refilling will bubble over. son in law received 2nd degree burns on his hands! the product is nice and sturdy and im sure it was human error. just be careful.

Good price for the size but does NOT have a coated inside to prevent rust.

Much cheaper than other steamers but you will get a TON of rust build up on the inside (The water will look like red mud after about 2 weeks). You will have to rinse it out every few weeks and you will have to clean out wherever you rinse it to keep from getting rust stains. This product would be perfect if it was coated on the inside like the higher quality steamers.

5 Quart Cast Iron Kettle.We like it very much.Just besure to coat it with oil and put it in the oven a couple of hours befor useing it on top of wood stove, so it wont rust.
