1. Question: Does fireplace glass require a "special" fireplace?

• Answer: No, Fireplace glass is designed to be used in a vented solid fuel-burning fireplace equipped with a gas outlet.

2. Question: Can I convert my wood-burning fireplace to gas?

• Answer: Yes, simply contact a contractor or plumber and have them install a natural gas or propane gas line to your fireplace. This is not an uncommon home improvement and the cost is typically very reasonable.

3. Question: Does fireplace glass produce heat?

• Answer: Yes, the glass itself radiates heat and provides a constant flow of heat. This product produces more heat than typical gas logs and is far more efficient primarily because there is nothing blocking the radiant heat produced by the flame and hot glass.

4. Question: Can I use ordinary glass in my fireplace?

• Answer: No. Ordinary glass or even tempered glass can pop or even shoot out a shard or two into your room. Laminated windshield glass will blacken and melt. Be careful not to place products in your fireplace that you are unfamiliar with. For example, tempered windshield glass incorporates a plastic film that will generate a most annoying smoke & odor and by the chemical make up this can cause a poisonous gas!

5. Question: Can I use my existing gas pipe or do I need to buy new pipe?

• Answer: If your gas pipe is not rusted and displays an adequate flame in your fireplace when you remove all the components you may use your existing burner pipe.

6. Question: Does fireplace glass discolor?

• Answer: No.  Fireplace glass will not discolor.

7. Question: Can fireplace glass get dirty?

• Answer: Yes, like any household furnishing the glass can get dirty and dusty. If there is an obvious build up of dirt one can scoop out the glass and wash it with dish detergent followed by a thorough rinse. Another common option is mixing the glass with one's hand or a flat object to eliminate surface dust.

8. Question: Is fireplace glass sharp?

• Answer: No, typically the glass is not sharp and can be handled with bare hands but gloves are recommended.

9. Question: Are there any odors from fireplace glass?

• Answer: No, the glass burns clean and does not degrade nor generate any odors.

• Answer: Yes, we suggest at anytime you burn your fireplace that you make sure adequate ventilation is provided.

16. Question: Does fireplace glass only work in fireplaces?

• Answer: No, there are hundreds of other uses for this product including outdoor fire pits, decorative bowls, gel burners, and much more.

17. Question: Can I use fireplace glass in an outdoor fire pit?

• Answer: Yes, absolutely. This product is used in several outdoor fire pit applications and is easily cleaned simply with water. The evening brilliance is spectacular.

18. Question: Will fireplace glass around the burner pipe get hot?

• Answer: Yes, the glass around the burner pipe is more warm than hot as one can usually place one's hand directly on the glass next to the flame, but not within. Like all products that conduct heat the longer the fireplace is on the warmer the surrounding glass will get. One remarkable product attribute is after one turns off the gas the glass cools rapidly on top to touch yet remains warm below radiating heat for hours.

19. Question: Will the burner pipe be visible?

• Answer: No, you will cover the entire burner pipe.

20. Question: Can I take my fireplace glass with me if I move?

• Answer: Yes, one of the product benefits is that one can remove the entire product within 30 minutes safely without risk of spreading dirt and filth in their home.

21. Question: How do I store fireplace glass when I transport it?

23. Question: Do I need sand in the bottom of my fireplace when using fireplace glass?

• Answer: No. you do not need sand unless you have noisy gas pipes or burner pipes. In that case the sand can act as a  'muffler' and allow the user to increase gas with less noise.

24. Question: Will the fireplace glass fall out if my fireplace has no front ‘lip' or 'edge'?

• Answer: No, you can start with 1/2" glass up front near the edge and form the 'wedge' shape to 3"-4" at the back wall. This eliminates concern for falling glass.

25. Question: Is a burner pipe needed for use with fireplace glass?

• Answer: Yes, the burner pipe is used for the gas and is placed directly under the glass.
