For the past 5 years, I've used Rustoleum or Krylon high heat spray paint for my wood burning stove. The spray creates a fantastic mess with black powdery overspray coating everything it can get its dirty little hands on. Without fail, the spray paint powders off the stove within weeks of use. I have dreaded the mess every year.
This year, I used Stove and BBQ high heat flat black roll on paint. The can size is a pint (not a quart) yet I only used half of it for my stove. I first wet sanded the old paint off the wood stove, then wiped it down with acetone. I rolled a thin coat of paint on, let it dry, then rolled on a second very thin coat. Incredibly easy with very little mess. I cured the paint per the instructions on the back of the can. The paint cured to a flat black and is holding up well over the last 5 fires. There is no evidence of powdering or flaking so far.
This is by far the best product I have used for my wood stove. Very little fuss/muss.

great paint
easy to apply , quick drying and good finish
you need to be well ventilated when using though as the solvent is strong
