One disadvantage is unloading it regular handheld log carriers can be set down into the log rack next to the fireplace this one has to be 'dumped', or unloaded log-by-log, or you bend over to reach the rack and slide the straps off over your head.
I bought it for my husband but I am the one that uses it. It is easy to use, allows me to fill up the wood box in much less time than without it and with so much less strain on the back. Using it makes carrying in wood a lot less awkward as well. An excellent purchase even though I am the one who uses it rather than him. LOL

I got this for my husband for Xmas and was not sure if he would use it, but he really likes it. He can fit a larger load of wood than in the usually smaller hand carriers and he can carry the extra weight without having his back suffer for it. Good product for the price.
