I like this container. The lid is nice as I can set it outside and allow the embers to cool without worrying that wind could blow the embers out and start a fire. The description said it had a double bottom, which I had expected would be two sheets of metal on the bottom with an air gap between. Instead, it has a single layer about an inch above the bucket rim's bottom edge. It still works to keep hot metal away from any carpet it's set on, so I'm still happy with it.
This has really been a handy tool for cleaning out the fireplace. I like the fact that you can have some hot embers and not be concerned. It holds a lot of ashes.
This is exactly what I needed for my wood burning stove. The cover fits the container tightly so there is no danger of spilled ash if knocked over accidently. The container is large enough to remain in place for many burnings and it looks great next to the stove!
