Here's how it works.... If you're concerned about skyrocketing fuel costs, or the possibility of a fuel shortage, you'll find comfort in the Fireplace Radiator. It will cut your fuel bills and put money in your pocketbook. At the same time, make you less reliant on gas, oil, or electricity to heat your home.
First, the fan draws in cool air from the floor. Then, the air moves through the plenum where it is heated. Finally, the heated air emerges from the front air diverter bar and spreads throughout the home.
This model has the motor on the right (looking at the fireplace) and can be used in either a masonry fireplace or a zero-clearance (pre-fab) fireplace. Left hand motor model available.
Editors Note:The Fireplace Radiator is one of the best hearth heaters available. The quality is high, it accommodates most fireplaces, the fan is stronger than all other hearth heaters we carry and it sits outside the fireplace allowing for more firewood and less heat on the fan motor. Works with or without fireplace doors. The hot air blows out at 3 degrees under the maximum allowable at 18" from the face of the fireplace. We recommend this unit highly.

The Fireplace Radiator is a new twist on a time tested product. Fireplace hearth heaters have proven highly effective over the years supplying heat from wood and coal burning fireplaces. The fireplace radiator has been carefully designed with the user in mind. The tubes are adjustable to fit any fireplace depth from 16 1/2" up. The plenum "heat chamber" is adjustable in height by using the supplied bolts to raise it up for dropped firebox installations. The front air diverter and riser bar is expandable from 36" to 52" wide and can be used with fireplace doors (you will need to raise your doors approximately 1 1/8").
The UL listed variable speed motor moves HOT AIR at anywhere from 50 to 180 cubic feet per minute depending on the setting and customer preference with an output of up to 45,000 BTU's +. The motor may be positioned on either side of the fireplace.
The cast iron hollow heat chamber acts not only as a storage area for super heated air but also as a fire back reflecting radiant heat back into your living area. The hollow cast iron tubing heats air as it passes through and allows air to move thru the heat chamber. Heavy duty cast iron construction ensures durability and a long life while its 5 year limited warranty gives you piece of mind. Holding multiple patents, you won't find any other hearth heater like it. The Fireplace Radiator can be used in masonry or zero clearance fireplaces with a firebox having a depth no less than 16 1/2" and a width of no less than 19" and no more than 51".
5 Year Warranty on cast iron and sheet metal parts.

I like the overall performance, its rather noisey on high, so I run mine at about medium speed so I feel I do not get the full benefit from the product that I could. It was easy to setup and install. If the motor were less noisey and less vibration on high speed would be a GREAT product. Overall I like mine.
First, this fireplace heater really pumps out the heat - works great! But, the casting is not precise and the blower is loud. It took a few trips to my shop to clean up the cast iron so it would fit together but I still rated it above average because it works so well. I had a local welder build a custom vertical funnel shaped grate to hold the wood against the radiator. It uses very little short cut wood in the back of the firebox to keep my 4000+ sq ft house above 70 degrees when its 35 outside by turning on the HVAC fan. I also installed a fireplace crane for cooking with a dutch oven over the compact fire in the back of the firebox and there's still enough room in the front for a 12x16 grill over the cast iron tubes. This fireplace radiator is great!
the unit puts out a lot of heat, but the blower motor is very noisy
