Do you have smoke stains and discoloration on the front of your firebox? If so, you have a smoke problem. In most cases this problem is solved with the simple installation of a smoke guard. Smoke guards send the smoke up the chimney instead of into the living space. These smoke guards are spring loaded for easy placement, silicone adhesive included. Measures 4" Wide. Adjustable in length from 18" to 30" to make the fit simple. Finish is black.

The smoke guard has worked as advertised. It was relatively easy to install however, my fireplace opening was exactly the maximum width specified, and the spring tension wasn't enough to hold the unit in place while the caulking set I had to prop the unit up to hold it in place. I would only recommend this for fireplaces that are 4 to 6 narrower than the specified maximum. Otherwise, I am very happy with the product.
