The Vacu-Stack Chimney Cap is the best solution for wind induced downdrafts on both masonry and prefabricated chimneys. It is designed to stop wind from blowing into the chimney regardless of the wind direction. Accelerated air flow around the Vacu-Stack causes flue gasses to flow up and out of the chimney.
This model is designed for a round Class A Double Wall Chimney and can be used on a masonry chimney with proper adapter sold separately.
The quality of the product was excellent. The installation required very little modification to work with our existing system. The results in controlling the downdrafts has substantially improved, but we live at a high altitude and the winds can be very harsh 30+ mph. I would recommend it to anyone with a problem of downdrafts due to windy conditions.
