I bought both the ACS spray and the powder. I have used both products as recommended by the manufacture and I am absolutely amazed with the success I have had! My heating system was producing glazed creosote because of the way the system cycles. Taking the advice of my chimney sweep, I purchased ACS, he recommended just the spray. After some research on the internet, I decided to purchase both. I was pretty skeptical at first, but I have been using both products for a little over two months and virtually all the glazed creosote has turned into sweepable creosote. Since, I have been using both the spray and the powder, I cannot attribute the success to one product or the other, therefore, I simply recommend both products used together! By using this product, your chimney will still require the yearly sweeping, but it certainly does change the glazed creosote into a sweepable creosote just as advertised.
AS I purchased this product with the anti-creo-soot 1 gallon & have been using them together I honestly don't know which may be better but they are helping so far & time will tell if they control it completly. Thanks for the interest in following up on this.
Living in upstate NY we burn wood all winter. My chimney sweep recommended Cre-Away to me 2 yrs. ago....when I clean the stove pipe into my chimney once a month....I spray some powder up the chimney and into the pipe....the Cre-Away has made a big difference in lreducing the creosote build-up and makes removal of any remaining creosote w a wire brush etc. much easier. I sleep better at night because Cre-Away works
The Cre-Away Creosote Remover worked very well. It also seemed to help the eliminate the creosote oder.
