Woodstream has introduced Lurex3, an attractant specifically designed for customers
who have the Asian Tiger Mosquito (Aedes
albopictus). Octenol has been found to be less effective in trapping Asian Tiger
Mosquitoes. If the Asian Tiger Mosquito is the predominant pest in your area, we
recommend that you try Lurex3.
Lurex3 is a specially formulated patent pending attractant developed specifically
to attract the Asian Tiger Mosquito. Lurex3 is made of natural compounds that simulate
human sweat. Who should use Lurex3? Customers who live in areas where the Asian
Tiger is the predominant mosquito should use Lurex3 instead of Octenol. As of 2006,
the Asian Tiger Mosquito had been found in 26 states in the U.S. and in the last
four years has migrated rapidly from the Southeastern states into the Northeastern
states, Midwest, and Northern U.S. If you are not sure what you should use
you may want to contact your local department of natural resources and ask if the
Asian Tiger mosquito is predominant in your area. The Asian Tiger mosquito
is identifiable by its bold black and white stripes.

I look to Northline Rxpress for all of my Mosquito Magnet supplies. Low prices and excellent service are important to me and you consistantly deliver both.
The tiger mosquitoes drive me nuts and this really helps.
We like using the Lurex3 for three reasons. It is easy to install. It has a clear canister so you can tell when you are getting low and it needs to be replaced. Most of all, it works. We no longer deal with mosquito bites or those pesky May flies or horse flies.
We love it, love it. Thank you for creating this product.
Lurex3 a short-range chemoattractant used in combination with carbon dioxide, which works over a longer range. Our mosquito trap catches perhaps a 100 mosquitos per day. We still have some mosquitos, but the manufacturer states it takes about 3 weeks to break the breeding cycle, and I've only have the trap working for about 10 days. I haven't used the trap without the Lurex3, but my guess is that it is helping to increase the catch-rate, particularly by bringing mosquitos into the flow of the vaccuum of the trap. Check with the manufacturer of your trap to see whether Lurex3 or Octanol is better for your area.
