Add moisture to all your foods with The Legendary Cedar Grilling Planks. Even the most novice griller can make great tasting food every time using these cooking planks. These planks are 12" long x 5 1/4" wide x 1/2" tall and with the planks being thicker they hold more moisture creating the perfect blend of moisture and savory cedar smoked flavor. The soaked plank acts as a buffer and releases moisture creating a moderate heat source enveloping the food, adding moisture and a succulent cedar flavor while cooking the food more evenly.
At the end of the cooking cycle, the wood dries just enough to smolder, adding a subtle cedar smoked flavor as well. These planks can be soaked not only in water but you can experiment with other liquids such as wine, beer, apple juice, etc. These can also be soaked for 2 to 6 hours and then frozen. When you are ready to cook, remove them from the freezer and place the plank on the grill as you are preheating and you're ready to go.

Tips:
1 - Soaking times - Once you have used our Cedar Cooking Planks a few times, you can experiment with how long to soak the planks. The longer the plank is soaked, the more moisture will be released creating a more succulent essence of cedar taste and less cedar smoky flavor. A shorter soaking time will create less moisture, allowing the wood to smolder more creating a more cedar smoky flavor, while still adding moisture to your foods. We still recommend that you soak the plank at least 30 minutes before using and always keep water handy (like in a spray bottle) while using any wood product in your grill. Please note that when you soak your plank for less than the recommended one hour, you may have to check on your food more often as it is cooking.
It is also fun to experiment with soaking your plank in liquids other than water, like wine, beer, apple juice, etc.
2 - Freeze a planks - You can also soak planks in water for 2 to 6 hours, wipe off the excess water after soaking, rub a little vegetable or olive oil on the cooking surface and place the plank(s) in your freezer. Next time you are in a hurry to cook on Cedar, just pull a planks from your freezer and your ready to go. Just put the plank on the grill or in your oven as you are preheating and place your food on the planks when preheating is done.
3 - Use in your Oven - You can use our cedar cooking planks in your oven. Just follow the directions like using them on your grill. Remember, never leave oven or grill unattended when cooking with planks
