The Outside Air Kit burns outdoor combustion air to increase heating efficiency by utilizing air from outside of the house instead of pulling air from the room the stove is sitting in. An outside Air Kit is a crucial component when heating with natural vent gas fireplaces or wood burning fireplaces. Not only does it play a key part in heating efficiency, it prevents back-draft exhaust from lowering the oxygen content and adding poisonous gasses into the room.
The Outside Air Kit re-routs the exhaust outside, and allows fresh outside air to enter in exchange. Once the air enters the room, it circulates and expands so the house becomes positively pressurized, which tends to carry all heated air toward all of the cracks, helping to distribute the heat throughout the house. The Outside Air Kit includes 4' insulated flex (4"diameter) and a through the wall vent.
