Here's How DynaTrap Mosquito Traps Work:

First, UV florescent bulbs produce warm light to attract and lure mosquitoes to the trap. Mosquitoes and other flying insects react extremely sensitively to certain wavelength of UV rays. Carbon dioxide is the most universally recognized mosquito attractant and draws mosquitoes from up to 35 meters. When female mosquitoes sense carbon dioxide they will adopt a zigzagging flight path within the plume to locate its source which lures them directly to the mosquito trap.

Third, mosquitoes and other biting insects are drawn into the mosquito trap by a powerful vacuum fan and collected in a retaining cage where they eventually dehydrate and die. The whisper quiet fan on DynaTrap insect traps serves two functions. It is first used to draw mosquitoes into the trap and it keeps those insects from escaping using the same vacuum action created by the continuous cycle of the fan.

As mosquitoes and other insects collect inside of the retaining cage, it generally takes them about 24 hours to dehydrate and expire. The retaining cage can be removed, allowing the expired insects to be empitied into the trash. DynaTrap retaining cages feature a screened material that makes the interior of the cage visable so you can monitor how full it gets and empty it as needed.
