  • what happens with age and the reflective (ness?) of the surface diminishes from heat etc
  • It will discolor and make a “rainbow” coloration from the heat of the fire. This is normal of stainless steel fireback. A standard cleaner for soot, such as the ACS Hearth and Home cleaner would be fine.
