    • Do I need a chimney to vent smoke outside?
    • Yes, you will need to vent your barrel stove outside with approved stove pipe and class A chimney pipe. Below is a link of the owners manual for you to review. http://www.northlineexpress.com/media/pdf/5vz-bk150-manual.pdf

    • How much sqft does this drum heat. My house is about 1500sqft. Will this work?
    • Typically the Deluxe Barrel Stove kit using a 55 gallon drum will heat up to approximately 1000 square feet. The square feet it will heat is not guaranteed due to there are many variables that take place such as proper draft, type of wood and the area that is being heated.

    • Seriously considering this stove!
--Is it truly multi-fuel? I understand that coal is an option, but installation instruction booklet says "wood fuel only"...
--How long would coal burn? I viewed your video showing wood for a 24 hour burn inside the firebox. Is this burn-time possible with coal for overnight?
--Also how long does clean-out last with coal? And,resources/types of companies who sell coal? I've never had any reason to use it before for heating fuel.
--Last question-- any low-cost ideas for safe install? I have 100 yr old oak floors but could place the unit in front of an old fireplace brick chimney--
Thanks, I'm anxious to purchase, we're cold in Alabama!
    • Sharon, This a a wood burning stove only, the multi-fuel option was an error and has been corrected. This is a great economical option for your home. IF you are interested in using coal you may want to look into our Vogelzang Sentry Coal Burning Stove (http://www.northlineexpress.com/vogelzang-sentry-coal-burning-stove-vg810cl-vg810cl.html) A great option for floor protection is our Modular Hearth Pad System (http://www.northlineexpress.com/fireplace-hearth/fireplace-accessories/hearth-pads/modular-hearth-pad-system-ac02705.html) it is very simple to put together and looks great in any home setting.

    • I'm not really that handy. How is this assembled and what tools will I need?
      Thank You,
      Mike
PS Can this be purchased already assembled?
    • The assembly of the barrel stove kit requires a fair amount of handyman skills and tools. At a minimum you will need a drill, drill bits, metal shears, a sabre saw helps a lot, screw drivers, adjustable wrench, hearing protection. While it isn't hard for a general handy type person, it will take some time and effort. I'm sorry but we don't offer this item assembled....Robert
