  • The bottom of my ventless fireplace has no sand. Do these acutally have to touch the flames?
  • Thank you for your question. The Ceramic Fiber Embers are setup for in front of the gas log set. They sit in front of the pan and the gas logs. They are not meant to touch the flame.

  • Do the ember actually glow when the gas is on?
  • Yes. The embers are placed around the edges of the sand and burner area to simulate embers. They will glow when the flame contacts the embers giving a realistic "ember" effect...Robert
