  • What is this product for exactly. Is it a liquid and what is it's overall purpose. I have always thought that when chimney sweeping you just use a brush. Is this to help prevent build up of creasote?
  • This is a powder that you sprinkle on the fire that when burned creates a chemical in the smoke traveling up the chimney that breaks down creosote and allows it to fall back into the fireplace or wood stove. Its use doesn't eliminate chimney cleaning with a brush but will make your chimney safer in between brush cleaning. Other products are also available in liquid form.
