- Is this able to be retrofit to an existing top vent stove with 8" black stove pipe? If so can you offer suggestions as to the best way to do so? The problem we are trying to correct is a problem with smoke entering the house overnight when stove damped down and cold air sits in the valley thus being taken into the house especially when the smoke follows the roof down to eves. Which leads me to my second question. Extending the chimney height (8"double wall insulated pipe) from approximately 4'-6' to aprox another 4' to 6 ft help with keeping smoke off roof and following ridge down to eves overnight with sinking valley air? Any suggestions, both are to reduce smoke intake into home. thanks
- Thank you for your question. We normally do not recommend retrofitting a wood stove to use a catalytic combuster. By doing this it can effect how the stove operates. I would recommend contacting the manufacture of the stove you currently have to see if there is a way this can be done with their stove. They can assist on modifications.
