Not One Mosquito
I have read these reviews and I am tryly dumbfounded. I have owned mine for 2 years now. First one had to be replaced becaue it would not cut on. I have yet to trap one mosquito after going through a dozen tanks of propane. I get eaten alive in my yard so I know they are there. I wont waste money this year!!!
We have been extremely satisfied with our SkeeterVac since it first arrived. We first learned of the SkeeterVac while looking for some kind of solution to the heavy mosquito problem we encountered following hurricane Irene, and the SkeeterVac has definitely impressed us so far. It assembled very easily and started up with no fuss after hooking up the propane tank.
One thing to note, we were not aware of the flashing light effects that occur at night, pet owners might want to know about this before setting the unit up as pets can be very easily attracted to the lights.

Works like a charm!
I bought the 2 of the SV3100 SkeeterVac about 2-3 months ago and am so pleased with it. It does the job of trapping all kinds of flying insects including mosquitoes. Prior to the SkeeterVac you could not even sit outside this summer I could enjoy our new deck. Not all the mosquito are gone but it was a lot better. We live in Mass, I have told everyone about this machine and what a great job it does. Like as stated the propaine last 4 about 3 weeks...
After a few unsuccessful spray applications on my 2 1/2 acre lot I purchased SkeeterVac as a last resort. Within a few days there were noticeably less biting insects. I set the vac about 30' away from my front patio right on the edge of the woods. Propane lasts about 20 days and I'm on my fourth glue trap in about a month. Glue traps are very easy to change. Two things to be aware of before purchasing: 1.the glue trap is very potent and you might wind up trapping small birds and non biting insects 2. it covers a radius so unless you can centrally locate the unit on your property it's not going to cover everything.

Absolutely a must purchase for anyone with a mosquito problem. We have lived in a rural area in the southeastern part of Wisconsin since 1985 and have a terrible mosquito problem. By July 1st every year we are rarely outside anymore. We can't sit out on our deck or front porch can't work in the flower and vegetable gardens or mow the lawn without being carried away by the critters. After much researching we decided on the SkeeterVac SV5100 and glad we did. We purchased on June 2, 2011 and it was delivered on June 4, 2011. WOW! Great customer service. I waited two months to write this review because I wanted to make sure the product works. Well..without any doubts I can say the product is excellent, it works beautifully, and would recommend to anyone that it is a must have if you want to enjoy your summers again. This was the first year that we could sit out on our front porch and watch fireworks on the 4th of July and enjoy them without getting eaten alive. This is the first year we can work in our gardens and yard, sit outside on the deck and porch without being terrorized by mosquitos. We are very happy to have are beautiful yard back and to be able to enjoy it again.

When we arrived here in Virginia, the mosquitos were so plentiful we couldn't even go outside. After having the SkeeterVac for just over a week, the difference was amazing, and now that we have had it for just over a month, there are very few mosquitos left. I would bet we have trapper over a million, and counting!!! Thanks for your great product.
We love this thing! I am a mosquito magnet...I can be bit all night long while everyone around me escapes unscathed. Desperate for a non-chemical solution while pregnant and not real thrilled with the thought of slathering the babe with toxic goo we bought the biggest mosquito vac available even though our yard is quite small. It's pretty much done the trick since day one, and we've had it running for about 30 days. What convinced me was going without a bite the whole time I am in the backyard then getting bit three times when I took the dogs for a walk. The only downfall I've noticed is that the effectiveness of the unit is diminished when we build a fire in the outdoor pit, I think the heat of the fire is a strong attractant. No problems putting it together or starting it up, but I will say that you dont really hear a click when it starts...usually I work the buttons as per instructions then come back to check in a few minutes and its going. Well worth the money for me!

Wonderful Product. Assembly was a breeze. Worked from the get-go and right from the start wonderfully. I live on 1.2 acres on a lake in MASS, and this trap has definitely reduced the mosquito population to almost nil within 3 weeks. The family can sit outside and swim in the pool at nights without getting bitten. The Therma Cell lantern is a great addition to this product to keep by your side or picnic table to keep away any strays that weren't caught by the trap yet. All in all a five star product for I haven't foind any flaws with the unit for the six weeks that I have owned and operated it. also, service at NorthLine is commendable and also deserves a 5 star rating!!!!!!
I live in Connecticut and like anywhere else we have our share of mosquitoes. My yard is about 65% circled by woods and over the past few years it's gotten worse every year. This year we started getting bit all day long whereas we used to get some relief in the middle of the day.
The SkeeterVac was easy to set up and get started and less than a week we had reclaimed pretty much our entire yard.

This machine is a life saver. We previously owned a lesser model which ran for 7 years without a glitch. We stored it in a shed in the winter Canada and every year it fired up on first try. We gave it to our son and he is still using it! AMAZING machine. This newer model is easier to clean out the wave drawer. It catches thousands of mosquitos, black flies and other pesks. The propane lasts almost a month. We would NOT be without the SkeeterVac on our property. The price through NORTHLINE was cheaper than we could purchase it locally even with shipping. THANK YOU NORTHLINE!

I brought the 5100 skeeter vac and I am very happy with it, and so are my neighbors
This most that we have enjoyed our yard in years. All I can say is Thank you!
I bought the SV3100 SkeeterVac about 2-3 months ago and am so pleased with it. It does the job of trapping all kinds of flying insects including mosquitoes. Prior to the SkeeterVac I had a Magnet Pro, which was so difficult to use and maintain and actually not as effective as the SkeeterVac. It is a pleasure to start up the SkeeterVac.
I've only had the unit in operation for a few weeks, but so far it is operating well. The TacTrap does indiscriminately catch undesirable and desirable bugs.

Seems to be a good product. We've had it for about five weeks and it does seem that the mosquito population is down.

I have purchased 3 SkeeterVac SV5100 in the past year from Northline express. I also refered a friend who bought a SV5100 just this month. I am very happy with the product and service.

We received our SkeeterVac SV5100 about 3 months ago and we love it! We can't believe the number of mosquitos that have been trapped in that short amount of time. Before the SkeeterVac we couldn't sit out on our deck or work in our garden, day or night! Now we still have a few, but nothing like it was prior to the SkeeterVac. Bug spray didn't even seem to keep them away. If you spoke, you actually ate one or two! I have never seen the bugs this bad here in Michigan. What's even better, is that the bitting flies are stuck to the fly paper on the outside of the machine. I mean the paper is completely covered in flies!
Great machine! We will probably purchase another one next year since we have a large area to cover.
This works great!
I used to get assaulted by mosquitoes just from walking outside. Since getting the SkeeterVac, the mosquito population has significantly reduced and we are able to enjoy our backyard again.
Excellent service by Northline Express and everything actually arrived a day early. The SkeeterVac seems to be working well and making a big difference in the Mosquito population. My only suggestion is to move the wheels to the other end of the frame as the current wheel location makes movement across the grass ridiculously difficult.
Seems to help with the mosquito problem
After having three Mosquito Magnets fail after only one-two seasons, I am trying the SkeeterVac 5100. So far excellent after two months with gobs of dead mosquitos. Love it's battery start AA and it stops when tank is empty.

Skeeter Vac SV5100
Bought one last year and it worked so well that I bought a second one this year to put on the opposite end of our three acre lot.
Purchased a competitors model first, and after having three of them fail within days I bought the skeeter vac. It has proven to be a very dependable product and it is quite a thrill to open that trap drawer and see thousands of those miserable bastards struggling to escape. Gotcha!
We live in Maine on top of a mountain known for it's mosquito population, but now we are able to sit on our open deck until well after dark on most nights.
Less expensive than the competition.
Cheaper to operate than the competition
More reliable than the competition
Less maintenance than the competition
Only one problem is that it is difficult to move around the yard.
This would be a very easy fix for the manufacturer to make. All that is required is to move the wheels to the opposite side of the handle.
It took a few weeks to see results, but now I have not seen one mosquito. The instructions say that you should wait 3-4 weeks to see results, so I think the 30 day trial should be at least 45 days. Delivery was very very fast. I would recommend this product to anyone suffering from the mosquitos.
I've had my SkeeterVac SV5100 trap for about a month and I must say that this was the best $400.00 dollars I've ever spent. We have woods on 2 sides of us and this trap hasn't removed all of the mosquito but it has greatly reduced them and made our yard very enjoyable.
I haven't seen a mosquito since the trap has been operating. Much better than the magnet we had previously.

We live in Southeast Michigan and the SkeeterVac is our first attempt at mosquito control. We couldn't enjoy the back yard during the summer months because of mosquitos and biting flies. We didn't want to use harmful chemicals or foggers. This device was easy to assemble and start using. The results are nothing short of fantastic. We noticed results immediately, and after three weeks we are finally able to sit outside and enjoy the pool or a fire well into the evening. A necessary investment if you want to utilize your property during mosquito season.

It's killing mosquitos but hasn't killed them all. It's just been running for about 4 weeks.
I must say that I called Northline Technical Service with a question and spoke with a pleasant, professional individual named Jenne and she gave me the phone number for the technical department at SkeeterVac's manufacturer. When I called Northline I did not have to hold for more than 10 seconds and Jenne was a big help. So my Northline experience has been excellent so far.
I have had a SKEETER-VAC for several years and it has worked flawlessly. It clears the air of all flying insects, not just mosquitos. Ordering from your website has always been easy and efficient and the orders usually arrive in a day or so. Thank you again for your help.

We did so much research and this unit has had a significant effect in our Maryland area. It's run for it's first month, 36 days on 1 propane tank.. and even though the bug tray wasn't loaded, the sticky strip picked up quite a few biting bugs. Even after extensive rainstorms, the biggest effect was in the yard itself as we have not been bitten as before. I have 3 acres, and use the backyard alot for entertaining. I am very happy and hope these results continue throughout the summer. The unit is not bulky, rolls well, very quiet and it's very easy to install the lure and sticky band. I feel this was the right choice and good value.
This unit replaces a model I purchased in 2005. I like the design very much and it is easy to set up.
I greatly appreciate everything you have done in a timely manner and wanted to mention that I received my shipment yesterday Tuesday 22 2010 and within an hour had my Skeeter Vac SV5100 up and running. I walked out this morning and was pleasantly surprised at how well it works in only 9 hours their were over 100 mosquito in the trap. Nice product very nice, I will let you know how everything goes in a few weeks. Thank you again for everything. JM
I have had a Skeetervac for about a month now and let me tell you it works great! We live about 400 feet from a slow flowing creek and could not go outside without getting bitten at least 5 times in a minute or two. After a week there was a noticeable decrease in the mosquito population and by week three we were almost never bothered. In that timeframe we caught over 1000 mosquitoes and had to replace the stickytape early because there were so many 'quitos on it. To top it all off, we got over 12 inches of rain a few days ago and our back yard flooded. The Skeetervac up and floated off in about 10 feet of water. After the water subsided we found it 200-300 yards away tangled 5 feet up in a tree. We pulled it down dried it off with a fan for 2 days and fired it back up - and lo and behold everything worked on it, like nothing ever happped! I cannot say enough about this Awesome product and will buy another if this one wears out. Thanks Blue Rhino for such a great machine.

I would recommend this product for anyone that enjoys being outdoors and dislikes bugs. I had a mosquito magnet for 4 years and was satified with it.. This however seems to be doing as good a job and at a 1/3 of the price. It was much easier to assemble and start and keep operational.
I have attempted to use Mosquito Magnets for years. When they worked it was great but too often they broke down. This new Blue Rhino design appears to be far more robust and has worked great so far. The catching net is full of mosquitos and the sticky paper is covered with flying bugs of all descriptions. I will be ordering more for my son.
Easy to set up, catches lots of mosquitos. Wheels are oddly placed. Good price compared to competing units
I have had a SkeeterVac for the past aprox. 4yrs. It is the most effective Mosquito, biting insect trap I have ever used. Talked both kids into getting them also. Now I am going to order the SV5100. Not because the older one does not work. It has worked perfectly every year but would like an additional one to cover even more area. I live on a lake in Maine so Bugs used to be a problem...Not Any More! Thank you Blue Rhino
What more can you say. Works perfectly as stated.

The SkeeterVac is easy to assemble, and extremely effective against mosquitoes, deer flies, and horse flies. I would recommend it without reservation.
My husband and I spent hours on-line reviewing the many different types and models of mosquito killers. We decided on the SkeeterVac SV5100 because of the attractive price and other's reviews. We have a little over an acre in the mountains. We have a stream on our property along with several natural wetland areas. I couldn't even go out in the backyard to water our plants after 7 p.m. or risk being eaten alive. After my husband set up the unit, I have been able to enjoy the backyard again. We haven't had any problems with this product. It is a little unsitely seeing all the bugs stuck to the sticky wrap on the outside of the unit, but hey, at least they aren't stuck on me! It has a ton of flies stuck to it as well. Overall, we are quite pleased with the product.

This trap is catching and killing a lot of mosquitos. Note that it is consuming a full tank of propane every two weeks.
This unit really pulls em in. I'm very pleased with the overall product quality and effectiveness!
Works great in the Northeast with all the rain we've had this summer.
Reviewer: Chuck Greenhawt
The skeeter vac really works. We know because this is our second pruchase. Our only complaint is that we had to replace our old units when the fans failed after only two full seasons. The company does not sell replacement parts. Both the new and old units really capture bugs. We have neighbors with differnt brands that are not effective.
I had the top-of-the-line model of Mosquito Magnet for two years. It worked great... when it was working. It was a constant battle to keep the thing going. Finally I gave up and bought the SkeeterVac for less than half the price. It seems to be more robustly constructed than the Mosquito Magnet, and has caught thousands of mosquitoes just like the Mosquito Magnet, but without the fuss and frustration. A couple of howevers... I wish it had continuous solar charging rather than standard batteries... and it should have an audible and/or daylight viewable alert when the propane runs out. You can see that it's not working at night because the LEDs are off, but during the day you can't see if they're on from even a few feet away. Also, I recommend not using the sticky paper that goes around the outside of the unit. It works TOO well at catching everything that touches it, including lightning bugs, moths, and other harmless and/or important insects to have around... and very few mosquitoes. Apparently, the mosquitoes pass right by the flypaper and get vacuumed-up like they're supposed to.

After buying three Mosquito Magnets at Home Depot and having each fail within a few days of startup I finally gave up and bought the Skeeter Vac.
I found it to be a well constructed product that works wonderfully. I have only had it running for about three weeks but the capture rate has been phenominal. The SkeeterVacs' all steel construction makes it a rugged unit. It was very easy to assemble and it started right up and has run continuously. I'm not sure that the sticky wrap is really necessary since the vacuum catches so many of the little buggers, and the sticky wrap does catch other insects as well as mosquito's some insects we would rather not catch. If there could be any improvements made to the product it would be to put a large open mesh screen around the sticky wrap to prevent things such as butterflys moths and birds from getting caught in it. Yes I did find several feathers stuck to it in such a way that indicates a bird had a near death experience when it came into contact with it. Fortunately it did manage to get away and sans a few feathers I believe it survived. I have to agree with everyone else that complained about the difficulty in moving it from place to place, and that problem could be easily solved. Because the unit is so low to the ground anyone over three feet tall will have difficulty moving it. This is only a small issue that the company could easily resolve by locating the handle at the opposite end of the unit from the wheels.
All in all it is a great unit that has outperformed my expectations.
I would also like to put in a good word for Northline express. Easy to deal with, prompt delivery knowledgeable and nice people to talk to. Qualities that are extremely hard to find in todays world of scam artists and fraudulent claims.

Put it near marshy area on property to try and dent the mosquito population. It's working. Easy setup and easy to operate.
Reviewer: Robbin Harrell
It's easy to use and set up. It does actually catch biting flies and mosquitos. Not as many as I had hoped, but unlike all the others I tried, it does actually catch them, while not killing 1000 moths ever night. I like it. I will probably get a second one.

I bought the top of the line Mosquito Magnet for $1,000, fought with it for 3 - years and ended up throwing it out. Was skeptical about the Skeeter Vac, until a neighbor bought one. Hands down better than the Magnet. Easy assembly and operation it actually catches Mosquitoes.

So far it seems to be doing the trick. We live across the street from a swamp and usually the mosquitoes are unbearable. Very few are out biting so hopefully they are dead in the trap.

We have noticed a signigicant decrease in the number of mosquitos in our yard. The propane ran out much faster than I thought it would, but well worth being able to use my backyard.

worth every penny! We knew the benefits of the Skeetervac, my motherinlaw has the smaller one. We can be outside in the evening now, we live in south Georgia and mosquitos are terrible. You will not regret purchasing this product.
Reviewer: Ray Leisner
Thyis is the second Skeetervac product I've bought. I live in the woods on southern Alabama. This product makes that proposition liveable. My guess is that I'm killing a thousand or so females a week. The net effect of that on the local population is significant.
Reviewer: william a. farnham
Changed bait and does not seem to make a difference, the only thing that seems to work is the TacTrap sticky paper. Used the unit for two tanks of propane.
Works great. Slight complaint is the cart system does not make moving the trap as easy as I thought when deciding to purchase. Highly recommend this unit to take care of insect problems, noticable difference in a week.
The Skeetervac SV5100 seems to work as well as most comparable products on the market. It is priced below most competitors products making it a good deal.

Works much better than the old SV2000. 1 20lb tank lasts about 2.5 wks.

This is the third model I have used so far and also the best. The main thing is to be patient. It takes about a month to get the mosquitos under control. Expensive but effective.
so far seems to be wonderful even though the skeeter population appears lower than usual, perhaps, because of colder nights than usual.
It's hard to believe the difference. Last season we were eaten alive whenever outside. Placed this in our backyard and have maybe had two to three bites for the entire family this season key is to start it just before the mosquito season. Highly recommend.
Reviewer: Gary Jurgemeyer
This thing really collects bugs! Gnats, flies, mosquitos - it traps them all. It makes our mountain home more liveable, and for your customer reps information, yes, we do have mosquitos above 11,000 feet and yes, the SkeeterVac does work at that altitude. However, the locals take on this machine is that it attracts millions and kills thousands. In other words, it will alleviate the problem, but won't eliminate it.
I've been catching up to a couple hundred mosquitoes daily. No trap bags to replace - nice bonus. It has a removable screened dish for a trap that I just vacuum out the mosquitoes with my shop vac I do that about every other day. The sticky paper has been catching lots of biting flies. NO ELECTRICAL CORD REQUIRED - HUGE BONUS! The device generates its own electricity from the propane powered engine.
Uses lots of propane - a full tank lasts at most 3 weeks. I guess since this device is made by Blue Rhino, who is also in business of selling propane, why would I expect this device to be fuel efficient?
Wheels are nice, but this device is still difficult to move around the yard. Design would benefit from using 4 tires instead of 2.
The device is easy to assemble and fairly easy to maintain.
Cost of attractant scent block and sticky paper seems expensive to maintain.
Overall, it's a nice device and I recommend it as it's effective in catching mosquitoes, but this mosquito trap still has areas in its design that could be improved for fuel efficiency, cost of maintenance and ease of transport.
Delivery was very fast. It was easy to assemble. Mosquitos are all over the sticky black and white wrap around which I had to replace 3 times in 4 weeks due to all the mosquitos it caught however, no mosquitos are going into the trap, even after calling customer service for help. All in all, it is working, just not the trap part.
Great service - product seems to be catching bugs!

We are very happy with our SkeeterVac.What i like is the fact that i do not have to have any electric to it. No cords laying in our yard. Plus it seems to be working great.i cleaned it for the first time and we think we had at least a thousand of them in the basket, besides all the dead flys and bees that get caught on the sticky paper.
My Mosquito Magnet would never run for more than a few weeks straight usually far less. The SkeeterVac has run with no problems and it's catching a lot of mosquitos it should be noted that it is catching bugs other than mosquitos too.
Great unit. Easy to use and maintain.
