Might be good but beware....
I read the reviews and purchased the splitter. It arrived qucikly but the shippers totally ignored my instructions to leave it by the garage door (passed on the way in) and instead, put it on the front porch, 4 steps up so I had to remove it from the box, lower it down 4 stone steps and finally put it in the garage where it now sits.
After reading mroe reviews and the instruction manual, I decided to purchase oil to make sure it was topped off prior to first use. This is where the troubles begin....
The splitter required ISO 22 oil which cannot be found anywhere remotely close to me and if purchased online, is not sold in small quantities. I will not buy $180+ worth of oil for this splitter. I have not used it yet and planned to return it but found out I am responsible for shipping costs in both directions (around $400 total) So, I guess I will find some local sap to sell it to.
It might be a good splitter but I cannot recommend it.
Robert's Comment; Regular hydraulic oil will work fine. Give it a try and I think you'll be impressed. Yes, you pay shipping both ways should you decide to return the log splitter which we clearly state in our return policy. Shipping costs are very expensive on a heavy splitter like this one. My apologies for the shipper leaving your splitter on the porch but we have no control over that.

Great!
I can't get over the power and ease of this "little" splitter. I am most impressed however with the delivery drive. I had a heart attack and he went beyond what he needed or was required to do. I cant thank him enough. The machine itself is more than I expected. It does what it says it does and much more. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Quick and Easy
So far so good....Pretty stoutg unit... It does split just like the video.. Through knots and all !! Quick and easy.... Best of all............. No gas engine to maintain... Ethanol really kills small engines..

The spliiter is amazing for the price. I was splitting logs probably 25 inches plus, over twice what it is rated for. I was spitting a log that I could barely lift it was so heavy, and I believe a large branch must have caught between the spliiter and the log retainer. The whole side of the retainer bent (100% my fault), and even though the splitter still worked, I wanted to see if I could get a replacement part. This is where the company rating came from. I called and spoke to Rachel at Northline and also called Woodeze directly. Both told me there were no spare parts, though Rachel said she would see what she could do. Never expecting to hear from her again, she called me back 2 days later and said they found an old splitter not being used, and she would have the warehouse take it apart and send me the entire side piece and screws for not much more than it cost for shipping. This was far and beyond what she had to do or was obligated to do, since it was my fault. Got the package today. My wife is very happy she doesn't hear me cursing trying to start a pull cord gas engine. Anyway, I took one star off the spliiter rating just so it would get reader's attention, but the spliter is great and the company's customer service unbelievably great. They have a customer for life. Thank you Rachel. You deserve a raise.

Best toy I've ever owned. Had 7 ton splitter less than a week and split a cord of hard wood without breaking into a sweat. Very easy to use, more powerful than I had imagined. And it runs quietly.

Never buy this product - especially from North Line Express
The product is made in China and is of very poor quality.
You will get no replacement parts, should anything go wrong with the product, after the warranty is over. Basically, at that point, you will need to find a very large trash can for this piece of metal.
Even though North Line Express is marketing this product as an affiliate of the manufacturer, it took me two weeks for a response from a North Line Express representative, just to find out that they cannot get the basic gasket parts for this log splitter product. This conduct of business is unnacceptable; ladies and gentlemen, you've been warned.
Moderator Comment: This splitter is made in China as are most other electric splitters on the market. The quality is good and I have used it many times myself and have been impressed with the quality and performance. We do carry most replacement parts which are available on the website at Firewood Splitters. In addition we have other parts in our warehouse should you need anything. So to say you cannot get replacement parts is not correct; we can get you any part you need if we don't already have it in stock. Our service representatives may have taken longer to respond since your request was not a common part needed but I do agree that taking two weeks to respond is unacceptable. Perhaps your request just fell through the cracks and I apologize for that. I suggest you contact us again and request the part you need. Have the customer service rep forward your request to Robert and I'll see that you get taken care of....Robert

Great little splitter - quiet enough for inside use.
Heavy construction and works as advertised.
The ease of use from 4 to 7 ton is sensible, intuitive. The two button, two hands safety feature is a necessary annoyance but I will not even consider trying to defeat it. I understand the value of this when doing a repetitive task. Good design will save a finger or two I'm sure!
I will probably set it up on a sturdy riser of some kind to save my back a bit.
The directions on the bleeder valve were unclear. Easy version: Open bleeder at least 3 full turns while in use. Close it when you need to tip the unit (such as loading it or moving it extensively).

A good alternative to gas powered splitters because it's simple
This is a great product for women or elderly people who just cant swing an ax and don't want to bother with a gas powered motor (oil, upkeep etc.) Not to mention this is less than half the price of gas powered splitters. I am a 47 year old woman and can move the splitter around, split all the wood I need, and make small enough pieces for kindling. Yes, the splitter is heavy but the wheels on the end make it pretty easy to move. I am not able to split logs with nasty knots in them as easily as the man in the video. This requires a good bit more effort and there were a few pieces I just could not get split. It works best on dryer wood. It will split the very big around stumps that don't have knots but the greener the wood, the more trouble I had. Overall I love the splitter because without it I couldn't have split any of it.

A little champion splitter.
I was able to split 20 inch diameter Madrone at 18 inches in length which had several knots and limbs distorting the logs. I had several pieces like this as well as some large oak. This was a pile of wood that I could not split with my axe and wedges. I also really like two speeds as I can image the cycle time if it did not have the fast speed. Great machine for the money.

Great value
Got this splitter last week Put it to work right away. Worked very well on 80% of all the logs that I had. Some are just TOO big and need to be split down to a manageable size for the slitter to handle. Worked out of the box.
delivery was prompt and arrived with out any damage.
Would not work on the fast mode due to lack of hydraulic fluid. I topped it off and now it is fine.
This is a great product for casual splitting. More than adequate for any home use. Easy to work, silent and powerful. What more can you say. Great value and easy to store.

Great machine! Have done 4 cords from maple to white oak.
Only design suggestion move button on the motor to the top of the 7 ton unit. It would save a person leaning forward and old backs like mine.

The WoodEze 7-Ton 2 Speed Electric Log Splitter works quite well. A side panel bent during operation, while only a few hours old and Northline sent a new panel right away. Thinking back on it, I believe the panel bent because I was using a pusher log on some short pieces, which may have jack-knifed into the panel, but I didn't notice it at the time. So, most likely, it was user error, but Northline never even brought up the possibility. Anyway, if you're a homeowner with a few cords to split, here's your machine. I went through two cords of oak with ease. Watch the video - it really is just that easy!

Just got it going today. Hot and dusty but worth it when I look at the BIG pile of split wood this thing kicked out!! Thought it would be a little of a problem, with it low to the ground but found a piece of wood to sit on and it was perfect. I am a 54 year old widow and it gave me a good feeling to do this myself instead of finding someone to split the 3 cords I use each winter. It's a little heavy to roll around but definitely doable! Thankyou for a great product. Something good out of China!:

I am 52 old female with a wood stove. I get lots of wood. I was tired of waiting for the weekend production of splitting wood with the big gas powered 27 ton. I can split of few logs a day in the garage or outside. I set up a splitting area with the 7 ton splitter, jaw horse and electric chain saw. I can handle up to 14 by 14 inch logs. Thats the heaviest I can lift. I can move the splitter but it is heavy. I cut a small hole in the screen so I plug it in at a socket. It splits oak easier than ash or gum. The fibrous wood sometimes needs an added maul to help it split it to the end. I love it. I can split anytime without it being a big production.
There are cheaper ones but you get what you pay for.

Just received my WoodEze 7 ton Electric Log Splitter and Love it. Right out of the box it worked great. I was a little doubtful about it's capacity, but it made a believer out of me. Split 20 diameter logs Cherry no problem. Even cut white and red pine, pin oak and sasafrass. I highly recommend this easy to use log splitter. Thanks Northline Express for the video showing the WoodEze in action.

The splitter arrived from Northline Express in about a week in excellent condition. As others have said, it came not completely filled with hydraulic oil. That manifested itself by not allowing me to run the unit in the fast/4 ton mode easily - it only wanted to run in the slow mode. After checking the oil very easy with the dipstick, running to the hardware store to get more and filling it up, it ran properly and I could easily use both speeds as desired.
The unit is heavy duty, with emphasis on 'heavy'! Don't plan on dragging this thing around much. It's also too low to operate comfortably for long periods as-is. I set it up on a couple of log slices about 8 tall, and used another large upright log as a seat, and was good to go.
So you get a little workout getting it into position, but then it works like a champ. I used it on a couple face cords so far and was very pleased with its operation.

Works great, just like the video. I split over a cord already with it and was able to split several very large 2ft diameter pine logs. Seems like a well-made product I would recommend this product to a friend. I didn't give 5stars only because I cannot judge the durability/lifespan of the product yet.

I am very pleased with this product, and am looking forward to trying it with larger logs. I had no idea that 7 tons could be so effective, yet I rarely use it full force, preferring the speed.
It is small I had little space. If it can handle logs 12-16 wide, its low price is extraordinary.

Fantastic so far. Solid construction, clear directions and maintainance information. Splits large pieces of wood with ease. I'm a 62 year old woman who heats my home with a wood stove. I placed the wood spitter at about waist level and now can easily split my wood without stressing my back. It is still new so my opinion may change in a year, we'll see.

The splitter is sturdy, easier to operate and maintain than a gas powered splitter. For anyone not able to use an axe or for senior citizens, it is an outstanding piece of equipment. Power is ample and it does a fine job with both hardwood and fir. We highly recommend it.

Really like the splitter so far. Got it today and was splitting wood within two minutes. Doesn't even slow down on knotty, frozen chunks of wood I knew I couldn't split with a maul. I just received the 7 ton woodeze splitter today split hedge, oak and hackleberry most of which was very knotty and extremely hard the splitter did an awesome job. Some of the logs were about 25 in diameter. To anyone skeptical about electric splitters this one will do the job!

Unlike other splitters I've owned, this one does everything it claims to do. After 2 months of ownership I've so far split about a cord of tough knotty oak and this thing just plows through. So far only 2 logs have stopped it in its tracks, but thanks to built in safety features there is little fear of blowing a seal as long as you don't hold the power switch longer than 5 seconds. In other words if it doesn't split right away, back off. Most times I am able to manipulate the log to find a softer split point.
Each time I use this machine I find myself giggling at how well it performs. I shouldn't do this because one day it might not do what it should do and I will be cussing in 5 languages. For the time being, I would highly recommend this Woodeze 7 ton, 2 speed unit.
I would also recommend buying from NorthlineExpress.com due to their unbeatable pricing, quick and free shipping. This item is shipped in a heavy cardboard box strapped to a sturdy wooden pallet. The pallet truly protects the splitter from the rigors of cross country shipping. Go with Northline Express!

this was purchased for someone dumb enough to live where it's cold...heating oil has skyrocketed like fuel and now with the already fallen trees on his property he has enough wood to last him three winters...the splitter never heated up much less slow down...already paid for itself...if you could just offer a person to pick up the monster logs this things split i'm sure that would be a big seller....not all of us are young and invincible...
