Puny blower motor

Just received this heater unit the other day.
I followed the directions by siliconing the adaptor to the heater tubes. IMO this should have been welded to the tubes, but at least the assembly came with the required silicone.

The blower unit really is the drawback of this heater. It's weak. I imagine it will take many hours to heat out basement family room area.

Overall the tubes are decent quality, and the stand that comes with the unit is okay.

I've only had the first fire on this heater so far, to burn off the oil and residue the instructions warn of. I did notice some excess smoke and caused slight eye irritation. The instructions warn to remove all birds and other pets and also young children from the area during the first fire. At least that's out of the way.

I'll update after I get a real nice fire going, and see if I can find an easy fix to ramp up the output of the blower.

SPITFIRE FIREPLACE HEATER

I PURCHASED THE 6 TUBE SPITFIRE BECAUSE I WAS TIRED OF SEEING ALL THE HEAT LOST OUT THRU THE CHIMNEY. IT DOES PUT OUT A LOT OF HEAT ONCE YOU GET A GOOD FIRE BURNING. I DO BELIEVE THE BLOWER SHOULD HAVE MORE POWER AND THIS WOULD ALLOW MORE HEAT. IT IS A VERY SMALL BLOWER AND I HAVE TO USE THE HIGH SETTING TO GET ANY HEAT. I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE WOOD HOLDER SO I TOOK IT TO A WELDER WHO MADE MODIFICATIONS TO ALLOW MORE WOOD TO BE HELD. OTHERWISE I COULD ONLY PUT 2 (3MAX) PIECES OF WOOD OR IT WOULD FALL OVER THE FRONT RAILING.

Well built product. Does heat the room but takes some time because of the blower strength. I would rate this product excellent if it had a stronger blower

I think that the blower could have more power/or more speed control on the unit.
