Incredible quality for the price!
I've been using this stove for over a year now to heat my 1600sf home in the mountains of West Virginia. We do not have any other heat source warming the house. The efficiency and overall usability of this stove is amazing. My wife was worried about our first winter. temps can fall below 0 where we live and a cold house is not fun. This stove has become one of our favorite features of our home. When I saw the BTU rating, I thought it was a type-o, but let me assure you, if you fire this puppy up, it will cook you out of the house and force you to open windows. We use only seasoned firewood, and if you don't chop the wood yourself, you will spend about 400$ to heat you home for the entire winter. My neighbors spend almost that much each month.
The other upside is, due to the snow / ice storms we get (being on the east ridge of the mountain), when the power goes out for days, we can still cook hot meals and don't suffer at all. Friends and family come to stay with us during these storms all because of our stove.
We love our Vogelzang!
(ps. This is the first product review I have EVER written, it goes to show how much I love this stove.)

- We have this stove and wonder what we can do to make it airtight? We are getting a smoky smell even with dry wood. Thank You
- Any non-airtight stove can't really be made to be airtight. There needs to be grooves in the door and door frame for the gasket to stay in and the door & frame need to be designed to be used with a gasket or the door won't close. If you are getting an odor from the wood stove then you are most likely getting a downdraft in your chimney. You could try using some Fireplace & Stove Deodorant; http://www.northlineexpress.com/fireplace-stove-deodorant-85.html or for a longer term solution try fixing the downdraft problem. We have an article on that at; http://www.northlineexpress.com/fireplace-hearth/fireplace-accessories/smoking-fireplace/why-does-my-fireplace-smoke.html and several solutions at; http://www.northlineexpress.com/fireplace-hearth/fireplace-accessories/smoking-fireplace.html and http://www.northlineexpress.com/chimney/chimney-caps/downdraft-chimney-caps.html The Tjernlund Draft inducers are popular; http://www.northlineexpress.com/chimney/chimney-caps/downdraft-chimney-caps/tjernlund-automatic-draft-inducer-ad-1.html
