Problem with stove ceramic fiber pad
We are having trouble with the ceramic fiber pad thats on top of the stove. When theres a strong wind the pad gets sucked up the stove pipe and we end up with smoke all thru the house then we have to pull the stove pipe apart an push the pad back down

Love this stove!
It burns great, blower is not that loud, throws a lot of heat. This stove is perfect. The only problem is no ash tray, but it is still a great wood burning stove. Great wide opening for wood. Burns about 6 hours.

This stove just gets better with use. Heats up fast with great secondary burn. The blower isn't really all that noisy & moves alot of heat.

Questions on Vogelzang Defender Wood Burning Stove - TR001
- From steve at 10/24/12 12:29 PM
- How do you clean the ashes out? Is there an ash pan?
- There isn't an ash pan on this wood stove. Many wood stoves do not have an ash pan clean-out and although an ash pan makes it easier to clean ashes; the downside is that in many cases the ash pan door can cause the "airtight" wood stove to be less airtight since there is another door which can leak air around the door and thereby feeding the fire. In addition the need for some sort of grate for the ashes to fall through is nice on one hand and can cause a shorter burn time by allowing air to get at a slow burning fire. As with most benefits; there is usually a trade-off. With most wood stoves you simply shovel the ashes out the front into an ash can. We have several options under ash buckets....Robert

- Hi There,
For the Defender stove, I want to put an adapter on the 6" pipe connected to the stove, changing it to an 8" pipe. Which adapter fits the Defender, the one that fits inside the stove pipe or the one that fits inside the pipe connected to the stove?
Thanks, Robin - You would want to look at a 6" to 8" increaser (not reducer). Depending on the brand of stove pipe or chimney pipe we have several options. See our 6" stove pipe increasers. A couple choices would be Item Code: 5SE-2628B, Item Code: 5IM-BM0062. This increaser would increase the size further up the pipe and is a popular choice and also looks good; Item Code: 5SP-1860. Our customer service reps can help answer any questions as well at 866-667-8454......Robert
