Transform a steel barrel into a heat radiating wood burning stove! The Vogelzang Standard Barrel Stove Kit is completely cast iron and easily converts a 55 or 30 gallon drum into a highly efficient heater. The Standard Barrel Stove Kit features a large well fitting cast iron feed door, cast iron legs, installation hardware and a 6" flue with damper. Can be installed by any handyman within a short period of time. Some assembly required.

love my stove!!!!!!!! works real nice in my work shop.it keeps me mmm mmm mmm toasty.if you were thinking about getting the top barrel kit get it. the top barrel kit will be my next purchase. to add a little more heat to a already hot stove. thanks northline

This is a great little stove kit. It took me about an hour to cut the holes in a barrel and install the kit. Wish the legs were a little longer, but not a real issue. Works as advertised. Makes a great camp stove.

it works better than expected and very easy to install my other wood burner wouldn,t keep up with the mid west winter i went from barely keeping 63 to a 75

Just got through installing the barrel kit and the double barrel kit I'm making a smoker rather than a wood stove.

This is an awesome and cheap little stove. The only reason that I do not give it 5 stars is due to the fact that I put it on a 30gal drum. It burns so hot and so fast that it is hard to keep it going for long being only 30 gal in size. Also I suggest burning it hot, when you are not in the structure. The paint fumes from the door and flange of the volezang are noxious. I preburned the barrel outside to get rid of its paint a good idea, I suggest. I am going to pack this thing is stone when I get back to the cabin, making it more of a radiator. Overall, easy to set up and great to be able to have a functioning woodstove for $75.00.

    • Thank you for your question. The manufacture recommends their kit is used on the end of the barrel. It is not setup to go vertically on the barrel, it would not mount properly.

    • What clearance from the nearest wall is required for installation? Is there a rack that goes inside to burn on?
    • Clearance to combustible materials is 36". This clearance to a wall can be reduced by using a stove board and hearth pad (generally speaking you can reduce the clearance by 2/3 with most stove boards). There is a grate (rack) available for this unit; Vogelzang Barrel Stove Kit Grate or you can burn firewood directly in the coals....Robert

    • The Vogelzang Standard Barrel Wood Stove Kit is made in China. There are very few foundries left in the USA and even in China it is very difficult to get foundry workers. Many cast products are becoming increasingly harder to get since workers move to the better jobs when they can. We've sold this barrel stove kit since 1978 and the quality is very good. I personally have used one for 20 years...Robert
