WOW!
I installed this on my wood pellet boiler and you can't believe how much heat it reclaims that would otherwise escape up the chimney. I don't know if I would use it on a woodstove, but on a pellet device where there is no creosote it is the perfect marriage. Paid for itself in 3 months easy....

For years we burned lots of wood,10 pluss cords and were still cold. Not no more. We are warm and I dont spend as much time with my chainsaw. Wife and my back love that. STOP THINKING ABOUT THIS AND BUY IT.

8 heat reclaimer installed on my 30 year old existing wood burning stove. After getting the fire burning it increased the temperature by 10 degrees F within a half hour. Keeps the basement nice and toasty.

I like it. It works well. I think it should be designed, though, with a switch that allows it to be off completely, without the thermostat kicking in and starting the fan. It would make the product more friendly to use. It does the job, otherwise.

- I have a flue that is 8", double wall. Is it posasible to install a reclaimer with double wall piping? I understand that this type of piping is for outside air to be fed to the unit even though the face is mesh chain.
- The heat reclaimers are only for use with single wall stove pipe.

- I had the unit running , and a power outage occured . Fire was still going , naturally , Did the power outage cause a malfunction/damage to the thermostat as now , the unit only responds at the start up cold temp or when the unit gets extremely hot ! Normally , the unit's fan clicks on and off as the temperature rises .
My question is , can you run the unit without electricity , and by doing so , will it damage the unit ?
Also , if the unit's thermostat is in fact the target of damage , is there a replacement thermostat that can be purchased to be replaced , and how much does it cost ? - Thank you for your question. - The manufacturer doesn't recommend installing the Magic Heat horizontally since soot or creosote (wood stove application) will build up on the heat exchanger tubes and once cleaned using the built in soot scraper the soot will fall and stay on the horizontal pipe which could clog. This is more likely on a wood stove than on use with a oil fired boiler. Regular cleaning would keep soot from becoming a problem and should be fine as long as you do clean this section of pipe....Robert
