Ive been using these for years, and these are the best ones out there. And today I see price is down, though for what it is, its still rather much.

      A grate addition!

This small but important addition is a high-quality item, fairly priced, that has made a noticeable improvement to completely burning my "ambiance only" logs. Keeping the embers together on the screen assures that they burn efficiently and leave fewer ashes to clean. I burn recycled, man-made, logs since my fires are only for visual enjoyment. The logs used to burn for only a couple of hours because some of the material fell through the grate and "fizzled out" on the floor of the firebox... under the main log... all alone:-(. After adding this screen, all of the embers stay together so the material burns longer and more completely. I believe the same effect would be achieved with "real" wood as well.
