Will not replace like product
I purchased two of these Ash Caddys to replace the original which came with my fireplace when I built my home. Even though it appears and even measure the same as the replacement Ash Caddy, it was not deep enough. It was at least 3/4 of an inch higher than the opening. In addition, the handle tips stick out of the side and stop the Caddy from entering the firebox hole. I had a sheet metal company cut the corners and bend the sides so that I could lower it into the floor of the fireplace. The handle ends prevent it going into the hole. Once filled it will have to be pulled out by the bent sides.
