Description

The SkeeterVac SV3100 enters a whole new level of quality, function, and design. Every aspect of this machine has been specifically designed to attract, trap, and kill mosquitoes and other blood-seeking insects like no-see-ums, biting midges, black flies, sand flies and more. The SkeeterVac SV3100 combines the new Flight Guide contrast pattern TacTrap, CO2 converted from propane, and the power of Octenol BaitBlocks to effectively attract and trap biting insects like no other mosquito control equipment.

This product will provide the following when used as directed:

  • Attract, trap and kill certain flying biting insects such as mosquitoes, no-see-ums, midges, sand flies and black flies.
  • Reduce the nuisance of certain flying biting insects.
  • Over a 4 to 6 week period reduce the overall mosquito populations by exterminating egg laden female mosquitoes.

The SkeeterVac mosquito trap is designed to be operated 24 hours a day to help reduce the nuisance of mosquitoes. It attracts female mosquitoes that are seeking a blood meal to nourish their eggs. By removing these females you also remove their eggs. Attracting, trapping and killing just one mosquito at the start of the mosquito season can prevent the birth of up to 25,000 more mosquitoes that season alone!

How the SkeeterVac SV3100 Works

The SkeeterVac SV3100 is a cordless unit that creates its own power to energize the suction fan by converting propane to electricity using a catalytic converter. Once it is ran through the catalytic converter, the propane byproduct is CO2. When the fan powers up, the exhaust from the fan blows CO2 and an attractant called Octenol out of the unit along with heat and moisture. Mosquitoes are drawn to the CO2, Octenol, moisture and heat thinking it is a mammal. Some mosquitoes will get stuck on the sticky TacTrap which is the black and white portion of the trap surrounding the SV3100 engine. Mosquito research has shown that mosquitoes are attracted to dark colors. The design of the TacTrap with the white and black contrast tends to make mosquitoes fly toward the wider dark portions of the TacTrap which is where the suction from the fan pulls the mosquitoes into the permanent net where they will dehydrate and die. Resistance is Futile!

Exclusive FineTune BaitBlock System

SkeeterVac is the only product on the market to provide attractant customization to specific outdoor environments. Different species of mosquitoes and different physical locations may require a lesser or greater amount of Octenol output. The FineTune BaitBlock system allows for 5 different settings to vary the amount of Octenol output. Once adjusted for your area the catch rate will increase.

WaveDrawer

This patent-pending feature ensures minimal loss in vacuum power as the trap fills up. The SV3100 has been re-designed with the WaveDrawer on top of the engine eliminating the maintenance required on earlier models.

LED Lighting Attractant

SkeeterVac's unique 5-color & motion lighting system helps increase attraction levels and works on difficult species like the Asian Tiger mosquito.

What makes SkeeterVac different?

  • Cordless - No limit on placement, no cord to trip over or cut and no service interruptions.

Great product but Northline Express. . .

"We have used the SkeeterVac for years and love it! Works well and keeps skeeters as well as flies under control. Have used Northline Express many times and have had several occasions where we had a really great deal and then our order gets canceled and they will do nothing about it and say you have to make another purchase for that product again, knowing that the deal is now off and can no longer get the discount. So long story short, great product but will never purchase from Northline Express again."

Horrible Return Policy

"They have a strict 30 day return policy. The Skeetervac wasn't working but I thought I should give it a few weeks to make sure I wasn't just being impatient. When I contacted them about returning it I received a response from a no-reply email stating """"""""We do not accept returns on orders over 30 days. """""""" Very disappointed as this was NOT a cheap investment into something that doesn't work."

Awesome SkeeterVac!

"I purchased the SkeeterVac SV3100 Mosquito Trap - 1 Acre and it was the BEST decision for getting rid of the pests that fly around my rural home. Never again will I waste money on a candles, sprays or any other bug trap. This thing is the best! I noticed a HUGE difference in the amount of flying bugs within a few days and it gets better with time. When it was time to replace my tank I knew it because the bugs were more than usual but even then it wasn't as bad as before I got the SkeeterVac. Don't even think about the price! It's QUALITY and will do the work! I can now have my kids play in the pool and outside without the worry of them getting eaten up. Thank you!"

Skeetervac sv3100

"I had this unit years ago and it finally failed from old age, I thought I didn't need it any more then the gnats and mosquitoes returned 10 fold, it's been running for 3 weeks and almost all the gnats are gone and no mosquitoes at all at dusk."

Waiting on my purchase

Not nearly as good as the original machines

"Had an sv35 I think was the model number. It worked fantastic. I would have to empty the trap multiple times during the season. This model that I purchased 3 or 4 years ago never had a mosquito in the trap. They get caught on sticky paper only"

Better than the Mosquito Magnet

"I owned a Mosquito Magnet Liberty model for two years and then had to leave it for trash pickup down here in humid South Carolina. The second year was full of fighting with their customer service to get this thing working right. The SkeeterVac, as cheesy as the name sounds, has surprised my skeptical mind. I love the way it does NOT need a cord, a special battery, a ridiculous red ""tank nozzle resetter"", nor the cost and grief of the ""quick clear cartridges"". It catches the same amount of mosquitos for LESS MONEY AND LESS GRIEF. I am not using the tacky paper and still am getting amazing results. I have owned both of the ""best"" residential mosquito catchers now and I highly recommend the SKEETERVAC."

Mine just doesn't work.

"This will be our third season TRYING to use our SV3100. My wife wants to try again this year, but I want to give up and throw it out. We have a small suburban lot (about 1/4 acre) in Bethesda, MD. I tried and tried to get it to work. . . with virtually no success. I called Northern and the manufacturer. . . repeatedly. They are pleasant, made suggestions, and have been surprised with my lack of success, but otherwise unhelpful. It turns out that while I was rereading the instructions and watching the videos about how to set it up and make it work, THE RETURN PERIOD EXPIRED. I have tried every suggestion they have made. I have changed the location of the SkeeterVac, the volume of propane being burned, and the attractant. . . to NO AVAIL! When I go to change the tank of propane, the trap has NEVER captured more than a couple dozen tiny insects! I bought the SV3100 because my wife gets ""attacked"" by mosquitos in our yard every spring and summer. She loves her garden, but frequently must retreat to the house because of the mosquitos. She gets some relief by wearing a ThermaCELL, but the SkeeterVac has poven WORTHLESS. . . It just doesn't work. I get so frustrated when I see the video of the fellow dumping out what looks like hundreds and hundreds of dehydrated mosquitos. I swear my wife has swatted more insects than the SkeeterVac has caught!"

Quality of the unit

"I think I have everyone beat here! I purchased my first skeetervac back in 2001 and it finally gave in this year and wouldn't start. It is similar in appearance to the SV15 model. I immediately bought the SV3100 because I cannot be without it where I live. I hope the new SV3100 lives up to the old unit. It has been a fabulous machine over 12 years and I always said that if it ever died I would buy another. A note to all from experience: if you ever have trouble starting the unit in the Spring don't forget to clean out the propane inline filter in the hose that connects to the head of the unit. It's a really tiny ceramic filter so be sure it doesn't drop out and you lose it. Blow it out with a compressor and replace it and it should fire right up. I maintain my unit every year before I put it out so it is cleaned well and I even dismount and clean the circuit board that houses the little lights because it too gets covered in dust and pollen over time. Take care of it and it should last you as long as it has lasted me. Also, you may have to change locations in your yard at first until you hit the sweet spot where the unit will do a fantastic job. Good luck to all."
