24'' LIFETIME FIREPLACE GRATE - EXTRA HEAVY-DUTY
This fireplace grate is a little bit pricey but worth the money. It is sturdy and does not melt like the cheap ones and looks great at the same time.

I like it a lot. Made in the USA, solid, looks good.

Heavy Duty and Functional overall
First off, this is a high quality fireplace grate. I have just a few minor comments that make it a 4.5 instead of 5-star rating. 1. This grate will probably never wear out. My last cast iron grate melted and cracked after about 5 years. This steel grate will have that problem, but it does not look as good or hold the coals as well. Also, the grate wobbled becasue the legs were not even or completely level. I used my shop grinder to take about 1/8 inch off a back leg and now it is stable and sits flat. 2. Being that it is rather plain (as compared to the more attractive/ornamental cast iron types) I would say it is worth about $100 to make it a 5-star price. That said, I am happy with my purchase and would recommend to others who don't ever want to replace their fireplace grate again! :)

Sturdy, Heavy, Durable
We've had this for 4 years, structure same as day we bought it. It's very heavy if you remove it to clean at the end of cold season. It does have a high clearance as noted in other reviews for different sizes but we bought an ember screen at the same time as the grate which keeps the coals with the burning wood until they are small enough to fall through which ensures the most efficient & thorough burn - hardly any chunks in the ashes. Works well in our large fireplace from 1847. Note that the high end should be in the front to prevent logs from falling forward and out of the fireplace.
