Description

Image of 5 Tube Fireplace Heater-With Blower

The Fireplace Heater was developed to dramatically increase convection heat (hot air) coming from your fireplace. The unique design of this grate heater super heats the air within the exchanger tubes to over 500'F and will produce up to 50,000+ BTUs of heat, enough to heat a large room or two. It fits into most fireplaces and has a limited one-year warranty. The Fireplace Heater is easy to install; simply assemble the blower on the tubes, seal it with the supplied silicone sealer, and place into your fireplace.

The FHK Hearth Heater features heavy heavy-gauge aluminized steel tubes for long life. Its unique design still allows it to work during power outages by converting heat naturally through the tubing and into your home. The blower is connected to the grate by means of a flexible tube, which allows the blower to be positioned in front of the fireplace opening.

"This is so much better than I expected"

Just OK.

"I've had this exact unit for over a decade (bought online from who knows who. . . ). It has held up perfectly including the blower which looks to be exactly the same. As a physicist I am quite disappointed in the amount of heat that it emits into the room. I've done all sizes of fires and have adjusted the position of the unit in the firebox, including elevating it, to see if it makes a difference. I estimate that it increases efficacy of my standard fireplace about 15 percent. The blower pipes will sometimes draw smoke into the room when the fire is not big enough. My physics professor had a similar one but the pipes were made of a different kind of steel, back in the 1980's which was much more efficient."

Puts out the heat

"Ive had this 5 Tube Heater for almost 4 weeks and just want to say, it puts out the HEAT!. Without smoke entering the room. I have a ranch and the room is 32 x 40 and in a couple of hours it heats up the room. The most important think that I will mention. . . DONT over load. Choke the fire then you will get smoke. I would recommend this unit to anyone."

Gets it warm with a lot less wood.

"We bought this heater about 6 weeks ago and really like it for the most part. We only have a fireplace to provide warmth for the home (along with a space heater in our bedroom for when we sleep) and it used to be that I had to burn 2 wheel borrows of wood a day just to keep the main level heated with the bedroom doors closed. It would take at least two hours of a roaring fire to get the insert to heat up enough to start warming the rest of the area up, and even then after several hours the best it ever got up to was 72. Now with using the heater I start with the bedroom doors closed and get the space up to 70 in about two hours. After that I open all the bedroom doors and the space (800 sq ft. ) gets up to 72 within the next 90 minutes, we've even gotten it up to 74 on days where we were really stocking the firebox with lots of wood and ran it a long time. My only complaints are that the size of the heater really limits how much wood you can put into it, and you really have to cut the pieces down in order to get them to work well, also I wish the the top of the tubes extended out another 3 or 4 inches because sometimes some the smoke from the first will get caught at the top and then drift in front of the tubes and then be blown into the space. After a little bit of learning time though I haven't had that problem much for the last couple of weeks. Now for the best part, I went from 2 wheel borrows full of wood a day to about 1 and 1/3 wheel borrows of wood a day, so definitely saves on fuel cost. Overall I am very satisfied with the product and have already recommended it to my friends and family. Also, just to let you know the product does come with a small tube of silicone sealant so you don't have to go out and buy your own."
