"I have purchased the $30 grates over the years at the big box stores and they last a year or two. This grate is thick and heavy and o expect it to last for many more years. At a price of $115 it seems to be well worth the quality."

"This is a great product, from GE. We've ordered a total of 180 of these (in a few separate orders) to replace all 168 indirect-lighting fluorescent tubes in a church sanctuary. Color temp. (3500K) is perfect, and all bulbs arrived in perfect condition. They are single-end powered, and rewiring by cutting out the ballasts was a snap. Highly recommended."

This fireplace grate is a little bit pricey but worth. . .

"This is an excellent product. We are using it to replace old 3 foot fluorescents, in indirect wall lighting in a church. It casts a slightly warm glow on the high wood ceilings. Simply use the existing black and white wires which fed the old ballast to directly feed a non-shunted tombstone (socket) at one end of the fixture (all old rapid start fluorescent fixtures have non-shunted tombstones). Great price and high quality--highly recommended!"
