Additional Information:

If using this paint on a BBQ grill:

  • Stove Bright paint is not rated for extended exposure to the sun as other exterior paints are and will fade over time. Constant exposure will show fading or dulling around the third or fourth season. Keeping the grill covered or in an area not exposed to the UV light will lengthen the time before seeing the fading/dulling.
  • Stove Bright paint is not rated for food and the grease and food chemicals are caustic to the paint. Recommended to wipe any food or grease off of the paint immediately so it won't attack the film of the paint.
  • Never paint the inside of the grill/unit.

Color

"We chose this company because they had a bigger selection of colors to pick from. We ordered the charcoal gray which when applied looks black. If we had wanted black we could buy it at Lowe’s for $20 a quart. When I called the company, they said I could send it back, but I would have to pay for the shipping. With the rates the postal service charges I will just suck it up with a black fireplace."

Fireplace Paint

"I painted my fireplace with this product and was very, very happy with the results. The finished product looked great! I used 2 cans to paint 3 walls of what I consider a ""standard"" size fireplace and had a little more than half a can left in the 2nd can. I would recommend using a stiff paint brush to get the paint into the nooks and crannies of the walls and then roll the paint with a paint roller. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PROPER VENTILATION! I painted the fireplace in less than 1 hour, and 20 minutes into the project I could not smell the product, at the start I thought the product smelled very, very strong! I would not recommend you do this painting indoors alone. I would recommend this for painting a fireplace!"

Good coverage

"I like the coverage of this paint, but there wasn't enough to cover my fireplace surround, even though is is less square footage than what one can should cover. Probably because the surround is stone and a very rough surface. Will have to order another can. Overall, I am very pleased with this paint."

Painting a Fireplace

"The Stove & Bar-B-Q paint went on fine, covered well and in the end looked great. Very happy with the results! Here's my take and my suggestions; Buy 2 cans unless you have a very small fireplace, I just needed a 1/4 of the second can. Because of all the ""nooks & crannies"" that the paint needed to get into I needed to apply the paint with a paint brush and then roll the area with a paint roller. Make sure you have VERY GOOD ventilation! And, don't do it alone. The project took me about an hour and a half and about half way through I could not smell the product. My wife got home and said she could smell the paint when she puled into the garage, that door was never open. Just be careful, and get fresh air during the project."

Great Product

"We bought this paint to use for our old wood stove that had seen better days. After sanding it down and cleaning it, my husband painted all the parts to the stove and the paint went on beautifully. The odor is quite strong, so when using it, be sure and open all the windows and run some fans. We did this and after just a couple of hours the smell was gone. But overall, our experience with the paint was a good one."

Tough industrial paint

"Second time I have used this product. It is tough & takes all the heat the fireplace can give it. Good heavy duty product. Only drawbacks. Takes several days to completely cure and has a powerful oder. If using indoors do it on a breezy day with open windows."
