Description

HomeSaver Stovepipe Shield - The use of this handy HomeSaver Stovepipe Shield allows you to reduce required single-wall stovepipe clearances from 18" to 6", per NFPA 211, Section 6-5.1.2, 2000 Edition. The stovepipe shield connects to the pipe with the ceramic spacers and screws provided. This often eliminates the need to attach a cumbersome shield directly to combustible surfaces nearby. The 24-ga. black stovepipe shield is half-round in shape, 35" long, and comes with mounting hardware. One size fits pipe diameters from 5" to 8".

Note: This product is recommended for vertical installations only.

I bought four of these units to replace 4 of 6 office. . .

"I bought four of these units to replace 4 of 6 office lights that used the u-shaped fluorescent lights. After installing these lights, I realized that the light output was so much better than previously, I do not need the 6 lights. The install is easy and the light output is consistent (4,000K) across the entire panel without any hot or cool spots and no annoying flicker. Power consumption is also half of what it was before with the u-bulbs using 40w apiece. The led 2x2 panel lights use only 40w for the entire panel. At this price, it was a no brainer to replace the old lights given that the fluorescent u-bulbs were around $10 per piece. I will be buying more of these units for my garage setup since they work so well. Thank you for making a quality product at a fair price. I am a satisfied customer."

Very effective

"I used the stove w/o the shields and could feel heat build up in wall. Once the shields were installed, no more heat on wall. Regarding other review comments about using magnets instead of screws - the magnets get hot (pick up your magnetic thermometer or just touch it). The ceramic spacers act as a heat insulator and keep outside of shields (facing wall) cool to the touch. Very effective and easy to install."

Needs different attaching mechanism.

"I agree that there has to be a better way to attach the shield other than drilling holes. A worm-type screw device? You're tightening on to a round surface that's unlikely to distort unless you're Atlas or foolish. My stove pipe temperature is held on by a magnet though I believe something more substantial is needed."

A better way to anchor it to the pipe

"I cant understand why the manufacturer makes a person drill 4 holes and screw the shield to the stove pipe. Why didnt they just weld two magnets on the inside so it could just be stuck to the wood stove pipe, with no problems. Robert: Magnets lose their magnetism when heated and the stove pipe shield would fall off. Screws are more secure."
